New Start

New Start

Pick up and take off
Leave the past behind
Tomorrow’s a stressful thought today
But tomorrow it’s just life
So many questions
But the answers are plain
Like resin, stick to my guns
Never be the same

Smash the mirror that stares back at me
I spend too long
Understanding who I am
That’s what’s wrong
The stars await me
Shed my skin, not my will
Like curious hands
Open up and feel something

It hurts but I feel alive
Dump the cocoon and take to the air
Like a jab with a needle
I’ll forget the pain was ever there.

New start to a new way
No one else to have a say
My mind is my guide
You’ve done enough
