  • Wow, the AL really likes to stack up on bats and shitty pitching! Crawford to Boston? I seem to remember a stacked Rangers team that had their asses handed to them by the Giants in the World Series! :) Cliff Lee is the best available free agent now? Didn't he just lose twice to Big Time Timmy Jim?? What is wrong with baseball? Lolololol!!!!!

That is insane. Guess you don't hear about it because he does not make headlines in the sports world. Pretty crazy and must be nice.

Reading the Rangers are now including any perks necessary to make his life easier. If that's the case, Yanks should have this in the bag. Yankees can offer more money and the same perks.

Wow, having Oswalt for one or two years and Doc for 3 years really looks good now.

I guess either team will just give Lee and his family a private plane or something. Too bad it looks like my son might turn out to be a righty. Probably still too early to tell. ;)

But it's the Yankees who might be the biggest losers of all. They miss out on a pitcher they coveted just days after the division rival Red Sox acquired Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford. Now that Crawford and Jayson Werth have signed, the Yankees will try to convince Andy Pettitte to return and determine whether to make a run at Greinke.

The whole point of free agency is that a player can go play for whoever he wants to. If Lee wanted to play for the Blue Jays, I'm sure they could've worked something out. But he wanted to play for a fanbase that sold out 81 home games last year and gave their own GM an aircraft carrier-load of shit for trading him away, and a manager that isn't going to take him out of games because of some giant binder.

every other team is just a farm team for the big guns in free agency ... if money is going to determine where someone goes - then it's pretty obvious that there are only a few teams in the mix ...

i don't have a stat but it would be interesting to see the gap in payroll over the years ...

mlb has the worst parity of any of the 4 major sports ...

That's complete bullshit. The Lakers win about 3/5 of all Western Conference titles. The Patriots have about a .700 winning pct. the past decade. Meanwhile, the Giants, Rangers, Rays and Rockies have been in the World Series recently. And the Phillies were baseball's biggest joke until 2007.
