Didn't Tim Finn save Ed from nearly drowning whilst surfing in NZ years ago.

Here is my 10C reply.......
HI Scott,
We are very familiar with New Zealand and love it! However, the booking agent and promoter have not added any NZ dates to this tour. We are sorry, and hope there’s a chance you can make it out to one of the OZ shows.
Cheers,

wow. that answered precisely nothing. they may as well have just said "cuz"
so essentially chugg couldn't be bothered?
we need fucking mystery girl to get him here. she always brings awesome acts to nz.0 -
look at the amazing track record
http://www.archhill.co.nz/bands/PAST-TOURS/
i say we write to mystery girl and see if she can bring him here.0 -
I sent an email to MG... I figure if he's down here, they could tag their own promotion on to the end and have it have nothing to do with Chugg... (like I know what Im talking about)
Hi Mystery Girl
You have an amazing history of bringing amazing artists to NZ. Seriously, that list of past tours makes my eyes all misty with all it's awesomeness.
Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam announced his first solo tour outside of America this past Tuesday. The rumour was it would be an Aus/NZ tour. Unfortunately the reality is it's only an Australian tour, for a couple of weeks next March. The idea is he's going to Aussie to play theatre shows of his solo music (Into the Wild and new material, plus covers and Pearl Jam tunes I believe) and to spend time surfing in down time.
Anyway, the Kiwi fans who were built up to anticipate a couple of dates in NZ were gutted that the guy is coming all this way and NOT leaping the ditch. He's also left Perth off the list and the promoters (Chugg) have implied that if enough people sign a petition they're open to putting Perth on the tour. But not NZ!
The Ten Club (Pearl Jam's fanclub) have said that NZ has been missed out because the promoters chose to miss us out.
Is there anyway you can put your previously mentioned awesomeosity (It's a word!) to use and entice Mr Vedder over to NZ since Chugg continues to just not give a shit? Think about how beautiful a show could be at the Civic in Auckland... or the St James in Wellington.
If it's possible or a reasonably good idea to you then I BEG OF YOU. I, like so many kiwi fans, just can't afford to go to Australia to see concerts. And you do good work bringing otherwise completely inaccessible live acts to NZ.
Thanks for reading
Cheers

What a lame reply!! Not really answering our questions
AND they're ingnoring me, havent replied to my emails. I shall keep hounding them.
I just want to KNOW WHY HE isnt coming here!!Pearl Jam Pearl Jam Pearl Jam!
I'm looking to buy a single ticket to Ed's Sydney Opera House show, PM me if you've got a spare! I don't care where the seat is!0 -
I really don't know why he isnt coming. PJ havent come in the past due to a lack of venue - thats not a problem this time. I think the $$$'s stack up, and cant for the life of me think what else it could be.0
-
I just don't buy the money thing. If it is the reason then that makes me very very angry with him considering far less popular and successful musicians come down here to see us all the time. Good ol' Sufjan Stevens is coming next year. The New Pornographers just played here. Bonnie Bloody Tyler did too.
CMON!0 -
But I think the money stacks up. Two shows at the Civic would bring in $500K USD. Thats as much as Melbourne is bringing in. Tickets would sell out no problem. Transportation cant be an issue - fly LAX - Auck - Bris instead of LAX - Sydney - brisbane. He may even by flying via Auckland to get to Australia.
It has to be something else. Maybe Ed said he only wants to do X number of shows.
In 03 and 06 they had a reason - venue. This time, they dont seem to have one. Is it Ed? Is it the promoter?0 -
is it us? do we smell?0
-
to further add to the list of people who came to nz that would have cost a lot more than ed. broken social scene. there's like 342 of those guys. and they have been here a couple of times. and isn't ben harper like at least spiritually part kiwi? he could bring ben over with him if he really wanted to.0
-
Where there is a will, there is a way....0
-
maybe mike can't come and he made ed promise not to come back to his favourite place on earth without him?0
