Now that's it all over with, what was the best Ed solo show?

I'd love to hear from folks who attended every show (or at least one show in each city).
I'm going to have to say LA2 (Jack Irons, Ben Harper, Watchtower, Happy Birthday to Ed's Grandma on video, Picture in a Frame, Throw Your Arms Around Me, Arc...wow).
But of course I wasn't in Vancouver, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, or San Diego, so I'm a wee bit biased.

Me and the wife went to Santa Cruz, Ten Club put us in the 5th row right side and it was awesome......Wont lie, I have the boot of the Berkeley show and it sounds amazing, Im sure it was a great show.....one problem for me...to much talking.
That being said, my wife and I agree that Santa Cruz was better because Ed was playing music, NO talk of George W, NO talk of the West Memphis Three, other than a little bit before No More there was NO talk of the war and especially for us NO talk of politics! Ed was singing and playing his music it was perfect for us.0 -
I only saw SB, LA1 and LA2. I am guessing the candidates for best show are gonna be (drum roll please)...
Berkeley II
LA II
San Diego II
I will also say the only one I would trade one of my shows to have seen would have been Berkeley II. Mikey Mike walking out (or being wheeled out) must have been pretty damn amazing. Irons would have equaled it for me at LAII BUT then they had to go and play Last Kiss.0 -
Berk2 hands down.
Yellow Ledbetter! McCready was on fire.
No More was chilling, to the point it brought Ed to tears.
Pulling Into Santa Cruz
The roast of Sean Penn was fucking hilarious.
Eddie on the motha fucking drums.
Masters of War setting the mood for the evening.
I would say this is by far top 3 shows I have ever been to.EV Bridgeschool - October 24, 2004
San Francisco - July 15/16/18, 2006 Bridgeschool - October 21/22, 2006
Lollapalooza - August 5,2007
EV Berkley - April 7/8, 2008 The Who Rock Honors - July 12, 2008
Outside Lands - August 28, 2009 Seattle - September 21/22, 2009 San Diego - October 9, 20090 -
Of the 2 LA Shows and SD 2,
I liked LA 2 the best... All Along the Watchtower! Arc! Ben Harper!
Awesome.LA 7/9/06 & 7/10/06
The Gorge 7/22/06 & 7/23/06
Antwerp 8/30/06
Bridge 2 10/22/06
Honolulu 12/2/06 & 12/9/06
Munich 6/12/07
Katowice 6/13/07, London 6/18/07, Lollapalooza 8/07, LA (EV) 4/12/08 & 4/13/08, Ouside Lands 090 -
I only saw Vancouver I, and he talked about how your first time is special, so that was cool. But based on the fanviews, setlists, etc..., I would most like to have seen Berekely II."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080

definately LA 2 for one very simple reason....Jack Irons.....he is my favorite PJ drummer and the best PJ drummer in my humble opinionI wanna run like the lions.0

I would say for me santa cruz............
But any show with Mike and yellow led .............
have to say it would be Berkeley for me.....wish I was their!!!!!!0 -
LA1 since it is the only one i was able to go to................and i am thankful. I mean, who wants to listen to the SAME setlist over and over???!!!! ...;)So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me0 -
I caught SB, LA1, LA2, and SD2... and my hands down favorite was LA2!!
It was unbelievable. Eddie was in a great mood, the energy in the Wiltern was awesome... Jack Irons, Ben Harper, "All Along the Watchtower!!!" A stunning Arc on night 2... an enthusiastic and angry "No More." Almost the entire crowd on it's feet from Porch ending the 1st set through BOTH encores. Of the four shows I caught, that was the ONLY crowd to do that.
I saw SD2 last night and I thought it was great, more rarities, but over all the show was not as strong as LA2. Bit of a weird crowd.
As far as Berekley, I wasn't there, so I'm going with LA2.
The one person I know who saw every show but Vancouver says LA2 was his favorite as well, but that Berkley 2 was a very close second.
Each of the shows was so unique in there own way, the stories... the vibe in the room, the way he approached the songs. (ALthough, I know the setlists didn't change much). Loved it all!"Holly f**k, that was so amazing, I just forgot who I came here to see!!" - Courtesy of the guy in the U2 t-shirt standing next to me in Aloha Stadium, Post PJ0 -

I have to agree on the simple fact it was our only show too.
My alter ego thinks Berk II would have been the best, but what the hell does he know!"...would you like some forks?" EV 12-02-060 -
I'll give LAII the edge since I was there...but major props to Berkley II...because I WISH I was there.
Also...those of you who think that Arc at LAII was sooooooo good...were you not there the first night? The version of Arc Eddie created on night one was so much better that that of night two. The crowd was quieter (amaziningly) and it just took off. I may be biased...as it was hard to enjoy on night two with the two girls singing along (wtf?!) infront of me..PJ: St. Paul 6.16.2003, St. Paul 6.26.2006, St. Paul 6.27.2006, Hartford 6.27.2008, Mansfield 6.28.2008, Mansfield 6.30.2008, Beacon Theater 7.1.2008, Toronto 8.21.2009, Chicago 8.23.2009, Chicago 8.24.2009, Philly 10.30.2009, Philly 10.31.2009, Columbus 5.6.2010, Noblesville 5.7.2010

trying to decide which show was the best is like trying to decide which child is your favorite.....each show had it's highlights for me
sb - first show i saw.....ed climbing down the rope....a really high ben harper
la1 - arc....everything else was great but arc....primal
sd1 - funniest show....the barry white experiment....patriot....2 petty songs
thanks for sharing the experiment with us ed....i'll never forget it0 -
LA1 and LA2... i especially liked LA1 because i was in the 4th row...
that was just the icing on the cake.4/12/92, 8/11/92, 9/28/96, 9/11/98, 8/23/00, 8/24/00, 7/9/03, 4/30/03, 10/1/04, 10/3/05, 12/9/05, 5/12/06, 5/17/06, 5/28/06, 6/3/06, 12/9/06, EV LA 4/12-4/13/08, 6/12/08, 6,19,08, 6,20,08, 6/24/08, 6/25/08, 7/1/08

Well you should have!Still can't believe I was 3rd row, dead center...I don't know if I'll ever get over that. You'll get another chance if you're headed to the east coast, I'm going Hartford through Mansfield. And I looooove meeting people!!

Hey, I was fifth row right side too! Were you wearing a 10 Club shirt? My wife gave her program to a couple and the guy was wearing a red 10 Club shirt.
The best show out of Santa Cruz and Berkeley 1 was Santa Cruz. I think the best show of the tour was Berkeley 2."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -
I only saw the two Vancouver shows. I enjoyed the first show more - because I was in 10c seating and it was great to see Ed put himself out there for the first time - and so human (made quite a few errors and seemed to be really nervous), but Arc on night 2 was simply magic, even from way up in the 'dress circle'.
Wish I could have made all the shows...even with the repeat songs. Did anyone make all the shows???Check out my Sudsy Chick Etsy Store for all natural homemade bath products!0 -
Who cares what the best show was?
They were all unique and special in one way or another. I'm so proud of Eddie because I know being up there with no safety net is not an easy thing for him to do. He pulled this tour off magnificently. All the reviews I've read have been nothing but positive positive positive.
I was so fortunate to be able to see him 3 times.
Who'd a thunk he could play 12 shows without playing Better Man at least once?0 -

Or Evenflow.
Or Corduroy.
