I find it hard to believe it would be this big of a deal for an Australia tour, would be very disappointing if that's all it was...
Disappointing?
How much PJ do you guys get? Shitloads. But whenever it's for Australia/NZ, people on this board make little comments like this....or why would they bother coming here when there are so few fans....etc etc....this thread is full of selfish comments from all you bastards about why you should be getting more PJ/EV and not Australia/NZ.
Maybe they like coming here because we're not a bunch of whinging bitches like the rest of you are? PJ haven't hyped this up....they've just done their normal tweet....you guys in this thread have.
No news then
Maybe it's not a tour but a special gift outside of deep and holiday singles. Was thinking this today as there was the recent mystery vinyl sale possibly to clear some storage space
I didn't mean to be rude, its just they were just there! I'm Canadian and believe it or not we don't see em much up here. Sorry if I offended you...
I live in Toronto and I disagree with your statement. We had a show in August 09, Buffalo 2010. We had 2 Eddie Vedder solo shows, etc. We get our fill and not to mention we are well within driving distance to many other venues in the USA. Cut the Aussies and the European fans a break.
Don't forget the whole 2005 West to East Canadian tour. 2 amazing Ed solo show's in Montreal & 2 amazing Ed solo show's in Toronto summer of '08. Though it's true that Canada, a country that rests side by side by the USA, doesn't get a lot of loving like you would think. Pearl Jam has played more show's in Australia (48?) then Canada (40?) in total history but it's ok because USA isn't that much a far drive or plane ride. Australia on the other hand is a pretty long & expensive trip. Let them have their fun. Just hope they still know who their younger brother still is.

That's the valid point I believe, Demetrios, the fact that it is hard to travel anywhere from NZ to see the band on the cheap - that's just the realities of living at the bottom of the world. Although I know we all want them to come to our own countries, it is more of an impossible dream for me to travel to see them outside of NZ (Aus at a strecth but even that is surprisingly expensive). We were so grateful to see them last year - you will all be sick of us kiwis reminding you it had been 11.5 years in the waiting - and we would really be grateful again were Ed solo or anyone (or all) from PJ to come back soon.
At least Pearl Jam know that their fans are alive and kicking - we remind me of custodial parents fighting over a kid sometimes ahhh, it's good to love Pearl Jam
Still nothing huh? So Kat's been locking threads which means they are reading posts. Has anyone emailed the Ten Club asking what is happening?

Quite the campaign. As always, when there is news, it will be announced. Unless and until all details are in place, there can be no announcement. Maybe skipping that last detail would be better and then it just wouldn't happen but everyone would have the announcement. I just don't know...and I don't know when the announcement will come.
What I'd like to do though is to wish everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving a very happy Thanksgiving and I hope you have a wonderful dinner and good pie with family and/or friends. xxx

Hey Jammers - just want to say to some of you doubters - Australia LOVES PJ - don't doubt our dedication! and if it is an Oz tour be HAPPY for us., we live bloody far away from the rest of thw world and sometimes miss out!
This thread goes from happiness and excitement .....to impatience.....to terseness.....to angry in record time.
.
You could not have summed it up better..lol..Im just glad I got away after hour 4 on Monday and said screw it, Im not sitting here all day, what if he announces he is playing in Aus? I can't do that trip..those would have been hours of my life I just cant back..lol

Classy and no nonsense as always, cheers Kat.
It is funny to watch these threads spiral out of control and have more theories and agument than the killing of JFK. Not saying this is a bad thing - until shit gets heated or silly. I await tour and other announcements as much as anyone, but everyone needs to take a step back from their computers and re-engage with the real world again. Sitting here hitting F5 just places load on the servers and wastes your life away. When any announcement comes, we'll know about it. If the guy down the road finds out from radio ahead of me, stiff shit, I'll still have a chance to get tickets before him.
If the announcement only includes one part of the globe - so be it. For us down here, the majority of announcements do not apply to us anyway unless we're willing to fort out a huge wad of cash. I can't ever again imagine being able to afford or talk my wife into seeing annother US tour - even the '20th Anniversary Of TEN Show/Tour' - which I'd give a body part to see. (I'll accept donations if you want to correct this injustice )The fact I've seen them once in my life at MSG is incredible to me. Seeing them in twice LA with the TOTD reunion on the first show, made a business trip very special and timed perfectly. But for me, that is unlikely to ever happen again. An Aussie tour, is probably all I will ever see again - and even then, probably only in Perth.
Seriously, fans in USA don't know how good you have it when it comes to tours. We've had PJ five times now in the 20 years (which is still pretty good). NZ have only had them twice I believe (but you did get 7 Worlds Colide and that is worth a couple of tours). There are parts of the globe with a large fan base (ie Indonesia) where fans have never had the chance to see the band, yet they still patiently wait and hope. If you're in the US the fact the band will be playing somewhere near you almost every year is pretty awesome. And, given the prices of fuel, train and airfares and accommodation in USA, getting to a show is not a major sacrifice to most of you. Shit, for the price of quitting smoking, taking your lunch from home or not buying a coffee everyday, you can see a show in a different city every year. I do also understand - even this is out of the reach of many people.
No matter what they announce, any activity from our favourite band is welcomed. Continued activity, means they are still creative, bonding and 'alive' - still into it when they could probably all agree to retire while at the top of their game and watch their kids grow. For me a concert tour in another part of the globe that I cannot attend means a chance to see videos on youtube, hear new songs or versions of them live, see pics from the shows, to read fan reviews and discuss new things on here. It's a chance to share in the thrills of those I am liked to on facebook who will make the tour and send updates, pics and vids to us.

sounds safe to say that we will be getting shows since they usually tweet when there is a tour and kats message sounds like they are just putting the finishing touches on venues and such. once everything is inked, im sure it will be announced.
hope we find out soon though. would be nice to see a show again.
what i want to know is what ever happened to extra material mike talked about when backspacer was released!? Do any of you remember him saying there could be more material released in some shape or form as soon as six months after backspacer!?
