I was going for a run the other day and i had been running for a while and was starting to get really tired and Rockin In the free world came on and it motivated me. Not the Lyric but the beat, got me back into a nice rythm, then after that finished i stopped.

I might compile a list so next time i go to the gym it can help me keep on keeping on. What do u work out to that keeps u going?

  • i don't work out to pearl jam, just cause i like listening to whatever comes on the ipod.

Here would be my tunes though

    rvm
    mfc
    go
    spin
    last exit
    whipping
    hail hail
    brain of j
    breaker fall

you know all the harder ones, but not necesssarily the heaviest ones. Just the ones that have that drive to them

Fair call, i would even say RVM from sydney 1 last year because they played it after release and it didnt have that long jam session in the middle of it so it was all rock. Im goin to the gym in an hr, so i might make a list similar to urs

The songs "Go" and "Once" really help out, especially with the bicep curls.

as strange a it sounds, I love listening to Black from any of the 06 boots. They are about 8 or 9 minutes long. Its really easy for me to get lost in that song so it goes by quick. Some other ones
Given to Fly - this is great. It motivates me so much.
    Lukin
    Blood
    Evenflow
    Brother with lyrics
    Hold On
    Alive
    RITFW
    Fuckin Up

Non PJ - The entire Badmotorfinger album is great to workout to.

I used to use No Code when it first came out. It had kind of a slow start, then sped up for the workout, then slowed down again. Perfect! :) That was before I could burn though. I do like the other suggestions. I think just make a few variations with your favs, putting in a few slower ones in the beginning and end for warm up and cool down. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."
  • I have a TV/DVD system in my home gym and I start my workout to the DVDs of Touring Band, Live at the Garden and recently, Imagine at Cornice (I rotate between the three) before I flip to Tool or other music that gets me moving.

While watching the DVDs, I skip through certain songs that don't motivate me such as Cropduster on Live at the Garden or the stretch of "Man" songs on the "Touring Band" DVD.

If I had to pick a few "pump me up" songs...

    Grievance
    Do the Evolution
    Insignifance
RVM is a great running song!

Corduroy always helps me and Alive helps me get over the hump at the end of my run, especially McCready's solo at the end.
