When are the kids coming?
once we're done with school. i'll be done (for now) in May, and she'll be done (aside from the last phase of her internship) next December. so we'll be driving from Waco to Seattle in the winter!!
once we settle into our new place/jobs...that's when we'd like to start a family. truth be told, we want to start a family now, but we're waiting until school is done for both of us.
do you have any kids?I LOVE MUSIC.

no kids....
Portland is a little different than Seattle, hard to describe. a little more 'free wheeling hippie like' I'd say....smaller too. Like a bigger version of Fremont (area of Seattle). The different towns in Seattle are pretty varied.
West Seattle is great...someone we know lives there!
Are you constrained by finances on where you're gonna live? The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

So i heard :P and yes i'm constrained, my wife loved seattle if we move from sunny florida Seattle will be our destination!
Now back to Matt good luck with the job hunting! Let me know how good is the market
Is it worthy to live in seattle with the cloudy weather and the cold weather?"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it"

yeah, Portland was very different, but still really nice. we like the size of Seattle a lot & feel like it has a bit more to offer. West Seattle was great!! that was one of our favorite spots in the city.
not sure about the finances yet....we won't be raking it in with me being a teacher & my wife being a Licensed Social Worker. our plan is to keep saving like mad & to rent for a year or two, then buy a house.
wow...sorry guys. i'm just going on & on over here!! i think i'm just really excited to talk about it...we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, i guess.
arq--cloudy & cold sounds like heaven compared to the summers here.
what's you favorite part of your hometown?I LOVE MUSIC.

oh yes...it rains and it's chilly for 8-9 months of the year but during the summer, when you're driving across 520 and see Lake Union and the Space Needle...the entire city literally sparkles. (this is my favorite part)
of course I am biased as I was born here and have lived here all my life (except for 8 months in Cali, but I don't count that!)
Where else would you want to live? The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

it was sunny ALL the DAMN time!
I really did miss all the rain, and we didn't live near the water (I grew up by a lake), I just didn't like the people/attitude, and it was really expensive to live there!
