I meant to say,
Is the MSG1 bootleg WORTH the purchase if you already have Bonnaroo?

I went to both shows and the sets are so similar that I dunno if I really need it. How does it sound for anyone that has it? I'm looking for honest opinions too.
Thanks; I'm short on cash right now, but I feel I may regret it later. I like hard copy CDs of my boots. I wish I could drive around with Borgata 2 and Philly 05 in my car with authentic 10C covers, etc.

I think that the MSG 1 bootleg is definitely worthy for a few reasons...

    1. The crowd was so much better at the first MSG show, at Roo' on almost all singalongs Ed had to end up singing. The anticipation for this show is unmatched compared to any other show on the 08' tour.
    2. You get a better version of Watchtower and an extra song in the encore. Indifference.
    3. MSG 1 got Present Tense, I Believe in Miracles and Spin the Black Circle (among many others).
    4. I think the band was just really on it at MSG 1, they were super tight, maybe not Hartford tight, but pretty dam tight. And they were having a great time.

Can you guess which show i was at....

    YES!!!!

on the bootleg it sounds like theres about 20 people in the audience, and during, say, no more when everyone is supposed to say "NO MORE", it just sounds like 2 or 3 people actually participate and it just sounds painful to hear ed end up doing the audience participation part.. :(

Am I the only one who thinks the circulating audience recording of Bonnaroo sounds superior to the recordings produced by the band.
Eddie is a singer in the band I thought...the lead singer.
On Why Go...all i hear is Jeff and Stone. Ludicrous.

but how many of the 80,000 were actual die-hard fans that knew the words?
that might answer ur question...most ppl were trying to pick up the words from those around them

and CJ Ramone played the same song night 2 with a shout-out to Ricky; not sure If i'd miss much from night 1 in terms of Miracles

thats what i first thought, but, i dunno if you have that boot or not, to me it literally sounds like 20 people. im sure there'd be more than 20 people either screaming or doing something, i cant imagine so many people were just deadpan..

Yeah, it' s pretty awful. It sounds like 12 people standing in the middle of a field listening to a bad Pearl Jam recording.

I disagree. They were very sloppy...both nights at the Garden. With the exception of Release on night 2. Sound issues and seemingly unrehearsed tunes.

I would rather more Eddie and less crowds on the boots. At the shows is another story...

They weren't NEARLY as sloppy as they were at Bonaroo. I thought it was a bad PJ cover band when I first heard the boot...

MSG 1 and 2 are worth it.. the boys mixed it up and had guest both nights. The cover of Black Diamond with Ace on lead and matt on vocals is awesome I must have listened 10x already. Night one Crazy MAry jam between mike and boom is another hi point. Definitely worth it. If you cant afford it check out gremmie.net see if they uploaded yet.
