bored as hell and not tired at 2:55 AM, and scrolling through random pj setlists just checkin shit out. all of a sudden i come across Prague, Czech Republic 06 (i think), and they opened with fuckin' MFC!!! wow! what a thrill that must have been. that opening riff (arguably ed's best ever) gets me so pumped and ready to go. such an uplifting song. never thought of it as an opener, but man it must have been sweet.

anyone whitness this one?

    i think they opened with it in Missoula 05 as well.
    {if (work != 0) {
    work = work + 1;
    sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);
    work = work +1;
    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    I was there in Prague...they come on to loud cheers of course...and as he's standing there getting himself in a semi crouching position, like he's ready to lift-off, the crowd gets quiet, and right then, without saying a word he kicks into the riff, it really was amazing!! I had an amazing spot, literally right in front of ed in the first row, unforgettable!

    That "FUCK IT!" bit in MFC is the most powerful Pearl Jam moment IMO. Live, anyway.

    Were you around for the '03 tour? It got to be ridiculous (in a good way, kind of) ... They were liable to open with anything short of YL.

    Crazy Mary, Small Town, Betterman (wtf?) and even Alive (I was there for that one).

    Personally, I like it when they have just a couple of standard openers to choose one that properly set the groove. I think they should rotate between release, long road, sometimes and of the girl.
    everybody wants the most they can possibly get
    for the least they could possibly do

    I have always thought that Untitled/MFC would be a kick ass way to open a show.

    Others that would kick ass: Nothing as it Seems (done once in 2000), I Got Shit, In My Tree (new), and Hard to Imagine.

    personally i think the best opener theyve used was on one of the Canadian shows they opened with Present Tense, now that would fucking awesome
    {if (work != 0) {
    work = work + 1;
    sleep = sleep - work * 10;}
    else if (work >= 0) {
    reality.equals(false);

    }system("pause");
    return 0;}

    I would love to see Present Tense open a show...........

    My fav that I have seen was Inside Job in Vegas '06 They came out minus Ed and played the intro extra long and he strolled out while they were playing. THAT was great.

    They opened with Hard to Imagine is Halifax 05. It was amazing!
