A bump for sennin and a plug for me too. ;)

Well, since the nearest CCFA chapter is 3 hours away in Nashville, I've
decided to take the initiative and organize a "Take Steps for Crohn's and
Colitis" walk close to home. The folks in Nashville will be walking the same
day, so I'm doing my part to spread awareness in Northwest Tennessee.

I've created a team (right now, consisting of Mandy, Xavier and myself) and
we're going to walk on Saturday, May 3rd from 1PM to 3PM on the fitness
trail on the campus of the University of Tennessee-Martin.

All funds raised will directly benefit the CCFA Tennessee Chapter in
    Nashville.

If you'd like to donate, I'd certainly love your support.

Also, if you'd like to come out and walk with us, mark your calendars for
    the first Saturday in May.

If you'd like more information, feel free to send me an email or give me a
    call.

Thanks for the consideration....since I hijacked Sennin's thread...if you decide to donate...split your donation between the two of us. ;)

Nashville has 25 teams walking in down town Nashville on May 3rd.

Martin (our team) is the only one walking in Martin, TN on May 3rd.

I'd like to try and be the top fundraiser for this walk. Hopefully, by doing so, the Tennessee chapter will consider funneling energy into starting a local chapter in Northwest Tennessee.

    Again, thanks for your consideration.

Yeah, you have to start somewhere.

It's like Mike said, whether 3 people or 100 people show up...at least it's a start. Right now, we're only $100 shy of our goal. I'd love to meet or even exceed that target.

Whether you donate to our group, to Sennin's team, at a pre-show fundraiser or your local chapter, the 1.4 million American's with Crohn's or Colitis thank you.

    Cheers,

I got an email today from Nicole Boisvert, who is the "Take Steps" Walk Assistant for the Tennessee Chapter.

Since the folks in Nashville are having their walk the same day as ours, they have set aside podium time at Nashville's "Take Steps" event to recognize our team in Martin!

It's good to see that the Tennessee Chapter are throwing their support around, not only our team, but everyone with Crohn's and Colitis in west Tennessee!

We had a great turn out over the weekend...raised lots of awareness and we're nearing the $2,000 mark in donations.

WPSD-TV ran a short piece about our walk during the 10:00 news on Saturday Night!

Good luck to Sennin and the Northwest Chapter for their upcoming walk.

Keep the thread bumped to the top!

I thought it was going to just be Mandy, Xavier and me! :D

Met lots of great people, shared stories and did something positive for the community.

We take what we learned this year and hope to improve upon it next year!
