    You know what, now that I think about it, I bet you the 3 backup singers will absolutely be on stage with Ed. It makes sense. All of a sudden PJ needs the Pips? I bet it was to get the fans accustomed to seeing them on stage before the solo tour. Oh no

    Exactly. They were ONLY at the NY shows, and now he's (supposedly) going to be touring the area. On his West Coast tour he had a couple of different people come up and sing backup vocals if I'm not mistaken. Perhaps just to 'fill out' the sound?
