    It kinda bothers me that they refer to him as "Doc" Halliday. For those of us who are fans of Val Kilmer's performance in Tombstone, it's almost a bastardization of the name. Why isn't Matt Holliday called "Doc"? This never made sense to me. Maybe our Torontonian and Philadelphian friends can shed some light on this. To me, it just sounds stupid. Doc Halliday.

    According to Wikipedia that's the reason. Tom Cheek used to call him that during games and it stuck.
