Moving to Milwaukee! Any PJ fans there?

So I assume there are fans there, but am moving there to work for the Brewers in November or maybe end of October and was wondering how many PJ fans on the boards are from that area?

I know that they have played Chicago many, many times, but where around Milwaukee has the band jammed out at? Hopefully we can get them there in the next year or so!

I used to live there, last time they played there was 06, pretty sure the time before that was 95.

Enjoy the city, I loved it there, but am in Chicago now.

I live in Chicago, but never miss a show at Alpine Valley. It is southwest of Milwaukee in Wisconsin. It's more of a summer venue though. You can try Eagles Ballroom or Rave for some good rock shows in Milwaukee. Or come to Chicago, about 1 1/2 hours for many good shows.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side

  • I just moved FROM Milwaukee a month ago! Lived there since age 2 (with the exception of going to Madison for undergrad). Now I'm in Nevada.

The bar "Yield" on the east side is a good PJ place- lots of good music there. But I'm excited that you're working for the Brewers! It's killing me not getting the games out here.

    GO BREWERS!!

Oh you are going to love it! My hometown but left almost 20 years ago now...ikes!
I haven't been yet, next time in town, but check out the Yield bar on the east side. PJ fans I'm sure.
PJ plays Alpine but played Summerfest one year and of course Eddie's infamous solo show. Milwaukee gets great music tours, better than here in Atlanta.
Great food, bar on every corner, super friendly people with great accents, I still have mine :P
For great pizza and unbelievably naughty garlic bread check out Mama Mia's on Silver Spring, funky little bar in back
or Balistreri's on Bluemound, they have the sunken bar thing going on, comfy chairs!
Up and Under Pub... great live music and The Silver Spring House great food and bar.
Saz's and Steves on Bluemound are near the ball park as is our buddies place Dana's Fieldhouse with the great PJ jukebox, a hole in wall but great fun and great people!
    Enjoy!
    winters are tough though....SmileySnowAngel.gif

    Hey thanks!

Yeah I am not looking forward to the winters!! I have living in Arizona since 2004 and have dealt with an entire winter since I was back in New York in 2003.

oh Arizona, thats like my sister, shes moving back after spending 5 cold winters in WI. She's had enough!
I don't know how NY is but WI the winter is just so long, way too long. I miss the snow though, I loved shoveling :wtf:
When I go back to visit I am so cold, shivering cold. I am just whimpy now about cold weather.

Good luck to you and safe travels

I saw this am that the Farm Aid concert is there in Milwaukee today. I would love to see Willie Nelson :D

My wife & I are originally from Michigan and live about halfway btwn Milwaukee and Madison...and thoroughly enjoying watching my neighbor putting up his Christmas lights instead of watching Wisconsin losing to my Spartans!!! I'm hoping we can finish the job today!

You're right - there are some PJ "faithful" in Milwaukee. Not sure if this guy is a Ten Clubber, but saw his Wisconsin "PRL JAM" plate this spring at Brookfield Mall.

We weren't yet living in WI when PJ played Alpine Valley, but heard it was an epic show. The boys are overdue to visit the land of beer and cheese.

    Welcome to Wisconsin bro.
  • i know this threads a little old. but just got around to reading it and wanted to say hello to my fellow Wisconsin peeps. I have a good feeling about the upcoming year and hoping PJ comes to Alpine, Milwaukee or Madison. And would love to meet up with fellow 10cers in this state :)
