Thank the Chili Peppers for this gem. Actually it's a fun song, early 90's style.

i wouldn't say it sucks, but is definitely one of the weaker pj tunes. i would imagine it would be a cool surprise live though actually.

btw, i have no clue why my screename is what it is. back when i signed up i was trying to think of something creative for too long, so i decided to just use the song that was playing at the moment.

I love the song and was TOTALLY stoked that they played it at The Gorge!!

I love how much Chili Peppers influence you can hear in the song. You can tell that they were on your with the Peppers when they penned the song.

BTW. When I first time heard this song I didn't know about all this RHCP influences, but I felt it. For me - this song is better than many RHCP songs! (don't forget - i like Peppers)

I just think it's cool that they play it, when clearly they don't think its a very good tune. It seems they just do it to appease the guys yelling 'dirty frank!' at all the shows. I personally would rather hear just about any other rarity. Besides, matt just cannot groove like Dave could, and that song is all about the drumming.

    I love this song.

And I can see where the song is coming from. Not only did the band tour with the Chillis, Eddie was in a frickin RHCP cover band.. He would know how to get the RHCP feel.

Anyway, a buddy of mine insists that the music is taken from a RHCP song. Anyone know which song this might be?

    Not my favorite either.

It sure sounds like "Give It Away" to me . . . I'd like to think of it as more of a tribute than a rip-off, though, especially since the two bands seem to still like each other after all these years. Personally I love Dirty Frank. It's just a funky feel-good song, but I guess you have to be in the right mood (i.e. crazy/drunk) to truly appreciate it's glory. PJ has so many super serious songs in their catalog, it's nice to have some that are just for fun.
