Any Blind Melon fans in the house?

“About five years ago someone from California sent me about 20 CDs with Blind Melon music. I had not listened to any of those until recently. When I ran across this CD I felt that I had found a treasure to be shared with all the people who love Shannon. After thinking about it for days, I have concluded that Shannon would have wanted me to give this as a Christmas present to you and you and you and you and you … so Merry Christmas!”

The CD entitled ‘from Shannon to You and You and You and You’ was recorded at Kingways Studios in 1994 and features 8 songs. You can download the whole album here (lossless .flac format).

    Great to hear the bare bones of some recognisable tracks, as well as a few unfamiliar songs.

    Over the years, this song has consistently remained in my top 4 or 5 BM songs...I think Sleepyhouse is the only other I can say the same for...so perfect.

    It's such a shame that Blind Melon aren't 8 albums deep, and that we're hearing news that Shannon is about to release a solo album!!

    So many bands/acts I adore & respect (PJ, Soundgarden, Faith No More, REM, Dino Jr, Manics, Jane's, Pumpkins etc), but the effect Blind Melon had on me in just two album is incredible!!

    In one way it's such a shame No Rain was so massive. Kind of takes away from the band's other great work.

    Also a shame people only see Shannon as Axl's mate/guy who died from overdose/hippy in No Rain video.
    Cause he was such a talented singer, musician & above all lyricist.
