Songs in their catalogue never played

I was looking through the list on the main page, and here is the list of songs they have never played live:

-Olympic Platinum
-Strangest Tribe
-Whale Song
-Santa Cruz
-Santa God
-Other Side
-In The Moonlight
-Hitchhiker
-Happy When I'm Crying
-most of the Ten reissue bonus tracks

There's a couple that I have never heard of and/or are listed as improvs, never played and never recorded. How do you have an improv that was never played? Or is it just not known info?

-Love The People improv
-Oklahoma improv

Also, why is 4/20/02 not listed? Is it because it is a "secret song"? I'm guessing it's never been played live, but just curious. Did Ed ever play it at a solo gig, as maybe a pre-set or anything?

  • Add Other Side to the 'never played' list. I'd love to hear that and Strangest Tribe some day. Love that tune.

Santa Cruz is a great song. I know Eddie played on his solo tour but I would love to hear a full band live version.

Looking over your list, there's not many 'bombs' left to be dropped. They took care of a lot of those in Philly last year. I'm hoping the Bridge School folks get Other Side next month. That would be a nice little surprise. Or, Strangest Tribe, of course.

Other Side and/or Strangest Tribe would be amazing at Bridge School!! Two of my favorite songs. Here's to hoping!

    thats an Ed Ved song

If you add that you'd have to add a bunch more. And also you'd then have to remove Santa Cruz because he has performed it.

also, if we're getting technical add:
    Aye Davanita
    Pry To
    Hey Foxymop
    red dot
    jingle bells?
    Evil Goat
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

Most of those arent even songs though- then if you want to get REALLY technical you can add the bonus from Lost Dogs- Im Still Here is what I think its called? but yea...that.

  • I purposely left off all the tracks that are basically impossible to perform. Jingle Bells isn't an original, and Evil Goat is on of the Ten bonus tracks I mentioned. And yes, Better Days isn't a PJ track. Santa Cruz has never been performed by PJ, according to the list.

  • Other Side is hands-down my #1 white whale, the one song I want to hear more than anything else. I really hope they consider playing it at Bridge!

  • And we are all better for it....most of these are by far the worst songs recorded by the band.

    I think there's a few song's that's not listed on that list.

For one, AKA Catholic Boy from The Basketball Diaries Soundtrack. A timbit was played back in '95's Monkey Wrench broadcast. Would love to hear that live. Against the 70's from the Ball-Hog or Tugboat record.

Hey Baby (Land of the New Rising Sun) would be a classic if Soundgarden & Pearl Jam were on stage together to cover this again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u40L3X-6io
  • a "timbit"?? HAHAHA. hello, fellow Canadian!
