So I was at the PJ show in Vegas for their 10th anniversary and will be at Bridge for the 20th. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm stoked to be sharing both occasions with my favorite band.

It's kinda weird that their 20th will be at Bridge School, I'm sure it's been discussed in length somewhere on this board, but Bridge School is usually all acoustic I think, so it's sort of fitting I suppose, should be an awesome show, I hope they get a good recording, maybe even pro shot video would be cool as well.

At the arena isn't there 2+ huge TV screen's up showing the whole performance @ the show's? With today's 'advanced' technology, I won't be surprised we'll get wicked HD video clips minutes or hours later uploaded/posted over @ youtube.

It's the 20th anni weekend celebration, but it's not the 20th anni live show. 10th anni live show in Vegas was 10/22/00. If they cont the 23rd & 24th @ Bridge Benefit their 20th anni show's, then their 10th anni experience also happen @ Phoenix, Arizona 10/21/00. Where both show's (10/21/00 & 10/22/00) happened over the weekend (just like the '10 fall under).

Not to get completely off track of the thread, but why don't concert organizers ever think about doing a pay per view thing when there are cameras filming the whole thing, it would raise more money for the charity, and since they're already being filmed it shouldn't interfere with the artist's performance. But I know they're concerned with selling tix, but isn't sold out? And I know the artists get upset about the sound mixing and such but it winds up on youtube anyway, but something like this would work.

I totally agree with you. It's a benefit show. It would receive so much more earnings if it was available all around the world via Pay Per View. I wouldn't mind paying 50-60 bucks each night to watch it in the comfort of my home with my family & friends. Plus it will get the message out to hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. I just don't understand why they don't use this media. We have the technology right? We have all those satellite's & shit covering the Earth, bringing us high speed connection & information. Why not use that?
  • I believe the Allman Brothers Band last year had a live stream you could pay for to watch their 8 night stand at the Beacon. I didn't purchase but thought it was a great idea and would probably pay $10 to watch a live stream of a concert I really wanted to make but couldn't. Probably couldn't justify $50-$60 though. I think the Allman's fee was quite high...maybe in that range.

If they broadcast the whole event on Pay Per View, HD & all, for a 5+ hour event, it's worth the $50-60 dollar price. UFC & WWE go for 40 bucks plus for 3 hours worth of madness. Least this is all for charity & a good cause.

I'm certainly holding out hope. All of the cool, smaller venues in the Bay have openings during the week like the Fillmore, Warfield, Fox, etc... Eddie's wedding and the Brad tour though make me think that they'll get together for Bridge and go back to their separate ways. We shall see, PJ at the Fillmore would be beyond incredible though...

I think if they announced that there would be a ppv telecast or whatever if the event was sold out, that could work out. Or if it didn't sell out they could just have it televised outside of the immediate area. :D

  • Just did some research. Some venues more likely than others, but just what I could find:

fillmore, bottom of the hill, slims, gamh, the independent, and regency ballroom are all booked on 10/22. All with somewhat legit looking websites for the booked acts.

masonic, warfield, paramount, fox, rickshaw stop, bimbos, red devil lounge all are open on 10/22
