Can't they at least tell us if it is legitmate or not? Is it only being sold in Europe or will it be sold here in the US through 10 Club or retail stores?

surely you didn't really think we would get an actual announcement from this by the band or 10c. the band and 10c love the hype and bitching of this boxset. remember how long the philly boxset thread was and how we never once heard word from pearl jam or 10c bout it.

You know I was fantasising about tenclub HQ earlier after I posted that - and also remembering some stuff about how tightnight their working arrangements were from an article in last year's Guardian UK newspaper.

I reckon HQ is like this - a 4 story converted mansion in W. Seattle in which ALL PJ related staff work - Ed is the big bossman of all departments, and has final say on everything that goes out (apart from Graphics which must be passed by Jeff). The message boards staff (Kat, Sea and their entourage of ten assistants) are on the ground floor - The band plus boom hang out on the fourth floor. But get this right, there is this fireman's pole running down from the top floor all the way to the bottom, and the INSTANT Ed or Stone read anything they are not happy with online (during their hourly checking) they drop whatever they are smoking or drinking and whizz down the pole, and barrack Kat and Sea and their team and say 'Listen, we are not having THAT said about Courtney Love ok - OR ELSE - no commission!'). So everyone jumps into line and gets to work implementing the directive (unless Ed and Stone are in disagreement on a point like the name and release details of a boxed set - in which case all shit breaks loose)

The best thing though, is that if Ed decides that the whole building (all 4 floors, rehearsal technicians wives and girlfriends etc etc) WILL stay behind to do overtime - what he does is summon the band together, and they play a unique live version (piped over the tannoy system) of 'Why Go Home.......?????'

Or maybe just because an announcement isn't ready to be made. It could be as complicated as details still being hashed out or as simple as timing it right to the release date. They're not slower or more secretive than they were 5 or 10 years ago, it's just that technology has shifted and it's very easy for small details to leak. Nothing for people to get worked up over or slag the 10c about; let's all relax and have a drink. If something's gonna be put up for sale, I'm more than certain we'll have ample opportunity to fork over our money.

Maybe they are waiting for the ITW release and even perhaps (at a stretch) the Telephant...something or other....(how do you spell that?)....to be out of the way so they can generate their own spin on this new release?

These are both out in 5 days so once thats all sorted we may here something and Dimi will get his 2011 dates soon after that. :roll:

The ITW reissue hasn't been mentioned here either though right? so.... and seeing as it's PJ "related"... you would maybe (and this is out there I know!)..... have mentioned it somewhere here?!

I imagine pharmaceutical companies have made good profits via anxiety medication from 10c members around the time of rumored releases....poor old us huh?

i think when a very respectable uk record store was/is taking preoders for this then yea i'd say 10c dropped the ball. but hey least we get news bout a former band member and a sideproject band :roll:. also why is this being released on island records. i thought pj had their own label.

If it goes out on Island, it's because Pj's "label" isn't big enough an operation to handle distributing to all possible outlets. Backspacer went to Target. Any other release has been thru someone else.

Exactly...how much information was available for that pre-order? The lack of info is what started this wildfire. If they have a project/release in the works, they're not going to trickle out info. Posting a news item of "working on a box set...details to follow" doesn't get us any further than we are now.
