20th Anni gift to pearl jam URGENT: SEE END POST
Someone came up with an amazing idea to celebrate pearl jam's upcoming 20th anni and i for one think it is one of the best ideas yet! The idea is simple. Get as many fans as possible to donate a dollar (more if they can spare it) and hopefully we will raise a good chunk of money in honor of pearl jam to help the bridge school kids. Thanks for taking the time to read, so proud of my boys for making it this long without someone having a diva meltdown or something! *knocks on wood* It feels good to be jamming after all this time and still helping people along the way.
Cheers ,

Donate anytime! Spare what you can, even a dollar a person would add up extremely fast. The plan was to set up a page so we could keep track of how much was donated but the important part is that people are donating to bridge school.. i do wish there was a way to present it to Bridge school acknowledging that its a gift from "pearl jam" but its less about recognition and more about helping a great cause. Hopefully someone will get the word to pj so THEY at least know that our money is going to a cause they believe in and support in honor of their longevity.Post edited by Fahka on0 -
so your thought is to donate directly to Bridge School? maybe i misunderstood. i thought that you wanted to collect the $, then have it presented at Bridge School. maybe someone could open a paypal account & then everyone could donate it as time went on? then you could monitor it & present one large donation instead of one dollar at a time?I LOVE MUSIC.

I love this idea, i'm not the creator of the facebook page just helping to spread the word. I think donating directly to bridge school is just easier because I'm sure the person who had the thought are not really capable of setting up a pay pal account, ect ect handling transaction fees ect ect. Was just a nice thought by someone who picked the method that would be easiest for everyone. Money is money right? Though If Ten c would like that to happen (ie set up a page for this specifically to keep track and present a large sum rather than small donations at a time) than i think that would be wonderful... just let me know what i can do to help! (i could easily make a web page and pay pal account but i would like it to be linked to the official website so people know for a fact that its not a scam or anything of that nature)Post edited by Fahka on0 -

hey mandi--
not sure if 10C would be able to do such a thing. i totally understand how it can be overwhelming to set up an account & keep track of it. so maybe we should just donate directly to the school. here's the donation link:
you can enter in your own amount & can also leave a message if you'd like. maybe that would be a way for them to know who's donating the money? for example, in the message box write something like "from a PJ fan. keep up the great work!" just a thought. in any case, i'm donating right now! thanks for spreading the word on this...now if only i can magically have tickets, airfare & hotel so i could attend!
cheers,

Dear Matt,
Thanks so much for donating. Great idea about the "comments" section when donating. That'd be perfect! I feel the same way about airfare and hotel situation to go see them. If i wasn't a struggling student id be so on it. I was suppose to already be on that cost but financial aid is taking longer than expected so my ass is still stuck on this here eastern coast :P I need to leave while i have Philly 05, 5 NE shows in 06, Four philly shows in 09 and 2 msg shows in 2010 under my belt..

On a pretty shitty day you've managed to make me laugh pretty hard. Way to go cincy.0 -
btw, I'm in for a donation to Bridge School. And I can't wait for the shows and to see you folks at the parties0

Great idea! Donation sent!

*edit ...
Doesn't work for anybody outside of USA.
When you choose Canada, there's no option to change the State to Provinces & pick.

If there was a way to pool all of the contributions, the Bridge School would end up with a greater amount. It costs $$ to process each contribution, so receiving $1 at a time costs them a lot of $$ to process.0
