I don't get it. PJ might announce a tour before the new record is done.

I wonder if this time around, they'll play some of the new songs before the album is released. ( I know, Gone was an exception). Or maybe they'll play the God damn B sides from Avocado.

Political band doing some shows in an election year isn't so far fetched without a new album to support.
Once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you look at it right.

I would be very surprised if they were announcing a full tour. I think a few shows are more likely, perhaps for a politician...I'm thinking McCain. ;)

A band the size of pearl jam doesnt need a new album to support a tour, they have a large enough fan base.

I was thinking the same thing earlier thinking that it was the first time they hadn't played any new songs (or at least seemed to keep everything under wraps), but then I remembered not only gone but also Comatose (crapshoot) was also played, so it wasn't as bleak as I had remembered! But yeah, break out the damn B sides!!!

A large enough fan base... that's why they skip the South.... I think there are much less fans now...

They broke out a ton of b-sides on the canadian tour. The played a lot of Lost Dawgs songs for the first time on that tour.

What don't you get? Look at their history they have toured without a new album a few times . . . what new album did they support during the 2004 tour? What new album did they support during the 2005 Canadian/South American tour? What new album did they support during the 2007 European tour? You can also say the same for the spring '94 tour and a few other early ones.
I prefer to see the band while not supporting a new album, because when they are supporting a new album then they must/should play 6 or 8 new songs, which i have no problem with, but it makes the set lists a bit predictable.
I would love for them to do what the Grateful Dead did in the last 15 or so years of their touring era, which was a spring tour and fall tour or a winter and summer tour each year regardless of if they had just recorded a new album.
    1996: Hartford; 1998: Hartford, Mansfield I & II
    2000: Saratoga, Mansfield I & II; 2003: West Palm, Tampa, Mansfield I & II & III; 2004: Boston I & II; 2005: Montreal; 2006: Albany, Hartford, Boston I & II, East Rutherford; 2007: Lolla
    2008: Tampa, MSG I & II, Hartford, Mansfield I & II; 2009: Chicago I & II, Philly I, III & IV; 2010: Cleveland, Buffalo, Hartford, Boston & MSG II.
