Ten years ago today. I was at this show. It is really hard to believe that it has been 10 years. This concert was performed at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland. This was a great show and great venue, but it was a very hot, humid, and rainy night. Corduroy from this show can be seen on the Touring Band 2000 DVD. Eddie came out prior to the start of the show and played a few songs with some of the members of Sonic Youth.

Any comments/thoughts about this show?

  • I can't believe it's been 10 years. I was there too, and after this show I went from die hard to obsessed. I had been to a few shows before and PJ was my favorite band, but after this show I started to listen to my other favorites less and less while my obsession for PJ grew and grew (the 2000 boots didn't hurt either). Joined the 10club, started traveling for shows, collecting boots, etc.
  • My 2nd show, the 1st was like a week before at SPAC after 7 frustrating years of trying to see them. Everyone I talked to go couldn't for some reason or another, so I rolled solo and sold my other TC ticket for face. 1st time I used TC for tickets, at least it got me in the amphitheater and off the lawn! Show had a weird vibe for a while without an opener and a big gap of time between the "pre set" and PJ taking the stage. That Parting Ways made it worth it, in retrospect. Wishlist with the mirror ball is always nice, Daughter w/It's OK tag, Soon Forget for Bill Gates even though "Seattle is only full of ethical people", a phenomenal RITFW to blow the doors off and end the show.

I had lost the boot from this show many years ago and I finally replaced it a month ago and glad I did.

Great way to end that summer 10 years ago and I got to start this summer with MSG II. Nice way to bookend the decade!
  • My second show, and second at Merriweather. I really wish they would play here again as it's a much better venue then Nissan. Don't know why they keep going back there after Merriweather was one of the few Protickets venues in the mid 90's.

Wasn't there a problem with Sonic Youth? Death in the family or something? Very humid night, but one of the best Breakerfall's I've ever heard and a real It's OK.

Random note, I actually graduated high school on that stage.

I hate Nissan Pav. too. I wish that they would play either Merriweather or DC proper.

It was my second pj concert too! We sat 23 rows from the stage (excluding orch pit.) We had 10c seats. Someone loaned their binoculars to me. It was amazing :) but yes, humid....

Great show and one of the best versions of Habit...Sonic Youth didn't play...cops completely sucked in the parking lot, spilling out beers even in cups and busting people all over even ones (like myself) who were way over the age limit...agree that is much better venue than Nissan, or Jiffy Lube, whatever they call it, especially to get home...would love to see them play the Patriot Center on campus of George Mason again

Patriot Center would be cool. Anything but Nissan/Jiffy Lube. I hate that venue so much that I might not even go to see PJ there in the future. That place is a dump.

If only I was in the Maryland area 10 years ago! Sounds like a cool show to have been at!

How 'bout the University of Maryland campus? :D
A concert at Byrd Stadium or the Comcast Center- that would be my dream come true!
