rare Pearl Jam blemish

THIS IS AN OPINION.

I don't know. I've always loved this band and pretty much everything they've ever released, save for a few. I was BEYOND excited when I found out that Ten would be re-released with bonus tracks, ones I'd actually never heard before.

Then I heard them.

Evil Little Goat. Seriously, can someone shed some light on this for me? Does anyone actually like this "song"? What purpose did it serve adding it to the album? My personal opinion is that it brought down the value of the rest of the music.

2,000 Mile Blues. Meh. Live improv at best, didn't belong on the reissue.

Seriously, what did these two songs bring to the table to make Ten better than it was?I would have been happier to never hear these two songs. Something I thought I'd never say about PJ! ;)

The others I had already heard, as I'm sure most of us had. But the two that I hadn't were, in my mind, two of the worst songs PJ has ever recorded.

Part of me thinks that the band gave these two extra tracks for the reissue because they didn't want to do the reissue in the first place, so this was their "f*** you" to Sony. But the rest of the box set was incredible, so that doesn't make much sense. I just can't figure out why they'd release them.

Anyone?

Evil Little Goat is far from a blemish. That song has been around for years, far before the re-issue. I always liked it. I like them both.
  • so you think it has a rightful place on Ten alongside all the others? I don't even think it has a place as a b-side. I had never heard ELG or 2000. 2000 I could see enjoying live though.

I didn't care that they were on that re-issue, it was a re-issue. However a lot of the Ten outtakes should have been added. Look at the songs they left off that album. It is one of the greatest albums ever along with a couple other Pearl Jam albums and they left off some songs that are simply amazing. They simply had too much greatness during the making of that album I guess.

evil little goat leaked years ago and crappy quality versions have been floating around since, so i guess they figured they'd put the original in there for the hell of it, i don't think its a song meant to be taken seriously, just some light hearted stuff.
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"

That song was meant to change the world and should have.
  • Hmm, I love Evil Little Goat. It's fun. And it's on a RE-ISSUE - obviously just as a bonus. Yes, bonus. I sing along at the top of my lungs and annoy my children with it, and I think it's awesome that they put it on. Just my opinion of course, but still. Awesomeness. :D:lol:
