  • Thanks for this post you read my mind...I am going also in November for 3 days (to see the Jets play the Browns) and if anyone can recommend a few good restaurants & bars I would appreciate it.

Got to see the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame which is in the downtown area of the city I think... We are staying at the Hampton Inn downtown and everything is within walking distance.... even gonna catch a Cavs-Pacers game (lebron-less)

Agreed. Plus it's right near the West Side Market mentioned in an earlier post.

I get the person going to Cleveland for the football game (especially since I too am a Jets fan and have been trying to land tix to that game myself); but the other guy from NJ picking Cleveland as your 3 day getaway? Why? The people are cool, but the city itself, not so much. If you want a city in Ohio - Columbus is hands down the best one. Otherwise, take a short drive down to Baltimore or DC - both great cities for a quick little getaway.

Ok, I digress ... FYI - the Rock'n'Roll HOF is literally right next door to the Browns stadium.

I lived in C dot for 24 years... I think it's a great place, although having lived in NYC and Chitown it does have it's weaknesses... :-)

Personally I think down town cleveland in pretty lame. W 6th is where all the meat heads go. There are some good restaurants there, but it's not a good example of Cleveland, same with e 4th...

The best parts about Cleveland are the neighborhoods filled with different ethnicities... Treemont is probably my favorite part of Cleveland. Good bars, great food, and real people. Tree House is an awesome bar! So is 816, Flying monkey, Edison's. Really any bar in the treemont area is great.
Lakewood also has some great spots. A little bit of a younger crowd, but still better than down town.
West side of Cleveland also has a lot of great bars. Right around the west side market on w 25th street are some great spots. The Garage is cool and Bier Market is one of my favs.
And then there is the place of my roots, the best place in Cleveland, Little Italy. Here you will find the BEST restaurants in all of Cleveland, some of them the best ive been to anywhere! La Dolce Vita is amazing. Mama Santas best pizza ever, Maxi's is great, Primo Vino is awesome, Salvatore's is good, and Presti's and Corbo's are a toss up for the best bakeries ive ever been to. There's also a lot of great art galleries and coffee shops in Little Italy.

Also, if you're staying DT, these locations are all pretty close. West side of Clev, Treemont and Lakewood are like a 5-10 minute drive and Little Italy is about 20 minutes...
Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...

Saw PJ in May... That was the only thing to do that weekend in Cleveland for sure... Sorry, I was really disapointed about the city and the fact that there's not a living soul downtown on weekends... Except for the Indians game and PJ...!
