I have never been to Bridge School.

Can someone tell me what a typical concert day is like? What time of day the shows start, when they end...other things to do...that type of stuff.
    ...
    A Great weekend...
Neil opens the day with a couple of songs.
Saturday show starts at 3:00 P.M. and runs through the night (11:30 to mid-night), Sunday start at 2:00.
The lawn is festive and a nice mix of fans of the other acts.
    The Kids are alright.
Buy lots of stuff because it is an amazing school the Young's run.
Leave your egos and wants in the parking lot... it is a celebration (Neil's orders).

It is a great time, I've done it twice, 2003 and 2006 I think. Great time to get together with friends from all over the country, hang out, eat, drink and hear some great music for an absolulety fantastic cause.
I don't think I can swing it this year though, but I know my friends will pressure me probably till I cave
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

    interesting...most interesting....

edit, just checked out the setlists....not sure i can justify a cross country trip for a dozen songs.
I was thinking the same thing. If I lived any where near CA, I would be there, but that's a lot of money for such a short set

    Pussy!

i didn't realize it was an all day thing. hmm...need to check frequent flyer mileage stuff

just checked. i can pick you up on my way...gotta fly to atlanta from chicago to get to san fran for free

what tiem do these shows end? would i be able to catch an 11pm flight out of frisco on sunday and catch the whole show?

Don't know but virgin America has one way from NY to San Fran/la for $129 now until the end of October. I flew them fir last years shows... I liked it

Look on Craigslist SF Bayarea under tickets. Virgin America had a special at the Giants game the other night. 2 for 1 tickets with every game ticket. I saw a bunch of people selling theirs on Craiglist yesterday, and I believe the travel dates work.

    BRIDGE SCHOOL F-ING ROCKS!

thanks for the info, I'll check it out

    ...
Ten Club does not sell any tickets... TicketMaster/Live Nation is the only source.
    On sale... maybe mid-September(?).

  • Tickets typically go On sale after labor day, and the usually announce the official lineup the week before the go on sale.

This will be my fifteenth Bridge show, I feel it is worth going no matter who is on the lineup.
I should also say a lot of the bands will play the same set both days, however Pearl Jam is Pearl Jam and they switch it up pretty good.

A few other things to know about Bridge...
    It can get COLD

Over the years Neil Young has proven one thing...he is a total wild card...sometimes he plays his hits,
sometimes you won't recognize a single song, sometimes a mix of both...but that's what is so cool about neil

Surprise guests can happen. One year unadvertised Pete Townsend came out and did a solo set, Another time Robin Williams did abut fifteen minutes. I have also seen Jerry Cantrel come out to play with Metallica, Linda Ronstadt do a song with Emmy Lou Harris, and Marilyn Mason do two songs with Smashing Pumpkins...Surprises Guests don't happen every year, but you never know.

There is no show like this, if you have never gone this would be a great year to go...if you do go, one more thing, don't talk through the other bands sets, I hate that>
  • How much are tickets usually? I remeber there being like VIP tickets for like $500 or something and then regular tickets for cheaper. Is that right? and also, do you buy tickets for one concert or is it something like a festival price were you pay a bigger amount and see everybody perform? I have never looked into this event before and I am trying to figure out how much this is going to cost me.
