Hey, I am looking for some songs that speak to individuality and nonconformity. Not For You came to mind originally. Any other suggestions? And it doesn't have to be a Pearl Jam song, either.

Could one make a case for Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized"??

    I think Corduroy could count.

I like the RATM suggestion. :D I have to be sure to end that song early when the kids are around. "Renegades" is another one.

  • Yeah, I definitely like the all of Vitalogy idea. That's how I feel about that record, too.
    And tool. Definitely.
Thanks for all of your help, everyone. I've got some good songs that I wouldn't have thought of. :)

The whole theme of the album, together with the artwork, is about noncoformity IMO. Conformity changes; ideals change. What was considered healthy in the 19th century, is considered unhealthy now...

Makes you wonder how misdirected we are these days...

Public health and sexuality (sexual behaviour)is the best way, btw, to enforce conformity (read Foucault - mindblowing)
