Will you be sharing photos of all of the completed frames? It would be great to see all of your completed work. It will help me figure out which posters I should frame during your next special. :)

Yes! I'll be getting those photos up sometime after I finish shipping everyone's out. It takes a long time to get clear photos like the ones on the OP, so I just want to keep the priority on the framing for the moment, then... photos galore. :D

    Hey PJ_ROCKS,

Excellent question. The difference in UV protection between Conservation Glass (included on all orders) and Museum Glass (an upgrade option) is no difference at all. Both have the same UV film, and both are used widely by museums.

The only difference is that Museum Glass has an anti-reflective coating as well which reduces reflection and glare to less than 1%... there is still reflection on bright elements (like opposite an extremely bright window, etc) but it reflects much less. Other elements in the room like people and furniture will probably not be seen reflecting at all with Museum Glass.

Both have 99% UV film, and both are made by the same company. If conservation is your concern, then both will work. If reflection is a concern, then Museum Glass should be considered. :)

    Thanks for this info.

Got mine yesterday and they look fantastic! Here is a pic of one of the 2. Thanks CJ!

Didnt realize the pic had to be so small. I should have zoomed in a bit, but I wanted to show how it looked against the red wall. I'm sure some high quality pics will be up in the not too distant future.

What do you suggest for taking good care of the frame?

    Hello.

When cleaning the glass, don't spray glass cleaner directly on the glass since it may drip down and get between the frame and the glass and possibly seep up. You'll want to spray glass cleaner on your paper towel (Bounty seems to work best) and clean it that way. I prefer the clear ammonia-free Windex. Ammonia free is good in general, and for those who upgraded to "museum glass" ammonia free glass cleaner is a must. Those with the upgrade to "museum glass" I anticipated giving you special cleaning instructions, since it's a little different to clean than "conservation glass".

As far as cleaning the frame, you can again put some windex on a paper towel and just lightly go over the frame. You'll probably only need to get dust off, so light pressure is all you will need.

They should be relatively trouble-free, but maybe once every 6 months or once every year it might make sense to give a light cleaning, but it is not necessary.

Also, I highly recommend displaying them in a non-humid environment (no bathrooms) as moisture will eventually become a problem, and encourage mold to grow. Also, do not hang in direct sunlight. While "conservation glass" and "museum glass" have UV film that blocks 99% of UV light, direct sunlight penetrates the UV film, and will fade the print over time. Also keep in mind that regular light (that you see) can also harm prints... but the "conservation" and "museum" glass only filter UV light, and it's the UV light that is the most damaging. Museums trust "conservation glass" and "museum glass" to protect their delicate items from fading, but they also often hang items of particular importance in generally dark spaces too. But frankly, with my personal poster collection, I have them all with conservation glass, and I consider any concern for non-UV fading to be trivial, so I don't personally worry about it on my prints as long as I have the conservation glass on there.

Here's a chart for those interested in the specifics of how a print will fade with different UV protection ratings:

Do the frames have hooks where we can easily hang them to the wall?

Yup - All are wired on the back and (unless I run out while shipping) I'm including hooks. ...and not the crappy "silver" hooks. They're brass hooks with black tempered-steel nails. A detail most won't notice, but... they're just better. :D

All you'll need is a wall and a hammer. :)

    Hi Everyone,

An update from PJ Poster Framing Central...

It's taking me a bit longer than I anticipated to complete and finish everyone's posters. I've been working 10am to 11pm (or later) every day for the last few weeks, and I've still got a number to go. I should have the majority of the posters shipped out by the end of the month (a number of you have them already) but I just wanted to give an update! A few of you said September shipping was ok, so those will be shipped in Sept. There were a few specialty-cut mat requests, and those will be at the tail end of shipping, since those involve more time.

If you have a question or needed yours to ship out by a certain time frame, just send me a PM (unless we already discussed a hard deadline). Aside from that, thanks for your patience! I want everyone to be thrilled with their posters, so I'm being very diligent to keep the quality as best as humanly possible. When your package is ready to ship out is when you'll hear from me.

I've had a TON of people asking when I'll put up the next special. ...I'm going to start the next list in the next day or so.

....and for those asking for photos, since it takes a loooong time per photo to get it nice and clear, I'm just putting up a handful of random ones, but at some point in upcoming weeks we'll have a lot more photos.

    Ok! Here's a few more photos! :D

    Thanks!
    Chris

Work looks nice Chris... If I wasn't so partial to Museum glass I'd send you something of mine... Maybe I'll think about it for the next round... Are you doing a Hartford in this set? I'm still waiting to get mine from Mr. Hampton... he told me it should be on it's way this week....

Museum Glass IS an option! :D

No offense, you do great work and all... but my framer here in Houston gets me the Museum glass for a lot cheaper, and he does great work, and there's no shipping involed, so everything is pretty cheap. I'm ballparking that to ship everything up to you and get it back with museum glass I'd probably be looking at around 3 bills, and usually I can get it all done with some really nice gallery quality frames (nothing custom, but extremely nice quality) for a little over 2 bills...

Don't ask me how he gets the glass that cheap, but it happens somehow...

That being said, when you post up the next set of details I'll consider it... Mr. Hampton still needs to get me my Hartford... he's been 2 months now doing a doodle! :?
