If it wasn't official, the 10C would've put the kibosh on all these threads as soon as they were posted. Considering how many threads are up, and the fact that numerous links have been posted, I'm sure if it was unofficial and for sale the 10C would've pulled the plug a long time ago. Try posting a link to someone selling unofficial PJ t-shirts and see how far you'll get

Seems legit...I'll roll the dice for $32. For those who suspect it's a boot, have you ever come across a 180g boot?

Music on Vinyl seems to have a deal to repress Sony albums, so I guess its semi official. I'm guessing management has no say on whether or not they repress this (seeing as the album was put out originally by Sony/BMG, its possible the label has the right to have it repressed), so thats why I say semi.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised the reason why the PJ camp hasn't said anything is because they didn't know it was getting re-pressed. Plain Recordings just did a Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentlemen repress and the band didn't know. It had to find out from their message board that it was getting repressed at the request of Sony.

My only fear is MOV uses CD masters if they can't get the original master and I'm guessing the PJ camp didn't give those up. While it may sound OK, it will most likely not sound as good as the Vinyl Films pressing.

Oh... I didn't know about the Spiritualized issue... the band not knowing they were being repressed.

In fact I saw that reissue on Aural Exploit, with a few others (Alice in Chains unplugged, Silver Cahir's Neon Ball), and I've never doubt they might be not official ones...

And on the CD masters thing... I don't know. One of MOV goals (as they say) is to print audiophile heavy weight vinyls... I don't think they would claim that and not use the original analog tapes to reprint their records.

What I guess, is that this ITW repress is LEGIT & OFFICIAL, but has nothing to do with to Pearl Jam/Monkey Wrench/TenClub bussines; therefore the lack of info.

I do own the first ITW LP and I've bought this one believing it's not a bootleg, and I still feel so. As other had said... do you think TC would've allowed this tread if this matter was somehow against its bussines?

To all of you that think this one's fake - Aural Exploits (AE) is a vinyl reseller. To say that AE makes records is the same as saying that Amazon prints books. Now, the company behind this release is called Music On Vinyl (MOV). Google it. Do some reading folks, do you think that a well known company like MOV would distribute something without the rights??

no one ever said this ones fake or a boot for sure - BUT i would not be surprised if it was.
no one ever said AE makes records, though they have sold a lot of questionable vinyl. heres a few:
    - Tool "Aenima" -$40
    - Pearl Jam "Ten" Picture Disc -$25
    - "Eddie Sings the Blues" -$25
    - Pearl Jam "5 Alive" -$25
    - QOTSA Mans Ruin on all sorts of colored vinyl -$30
    - QOTSA "Songs for the Deaf" red vinyl - $35

thats only a few - im pretty sure theres more - but are you telling me I can get a "real" Aenima for $40 instead of $500, and a Blue or Red QOTSA MR for $30 instead of $600-$1000?
of course they dont sell boots!

I think one thing is AE
    and another MOV.

I guess we can trust MOV...

AE would be just a retailer of vinyl records.

The Spiritualized reissue is great. They did a great job.

But using Audiophile weight vinyl and mastering and cutting an album in a way to please Audiophiles are two different things. (Also, IMO, I don't think the weight is all that. I have 180g albums that sound like shit and I have 120g pressings that sound fantastic)

I guess posters at Steve Hoffman forums (Pretty much an audiophile haven) have contacted MOV and they have said they use Analog masters or 96-kHz 32-bit digital where they can. But in alot of cases they have to use a CD Master which is at 44.1kHz - 16 bit. I think what they found for the most part was if it was a album made from the 90's on, MOV was using a CD master. Thats why I'm dubious.

To be fair I have their Dirt pressing. it sounds great. I don't have the OP or know how the OP was made (Sourcing wise, that is). But it sounds good. Not great. But acceptable. Which I'm sure is what most people that don't already have Into the Wild want.

But i think the most important thing is your last point, and I think its spot on and people need to know it when buying. Its a real pressing, just not sanctioned by the band.

    OK Guys,

for your information: This is release will be official.
I know this for sure, because I know the company and the guys who make this happen. (friends of mine)

Can't tell you more right now.
Just take a look at al the represses they already made last year:
Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Michael Jackson.

Music on Vinyl has a deal with Sony to repress their back catalalog.
All goes in conjunction with Sony Europe and Sony America.

No release will be released until Sony approves.

    Greetings!

Welcome!
