TEN Basketball Picture Disc - real or fake?

Spotted this on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT and just wanted to get your opinions. I noticed it only shows 1 pic and the price is quite low for limited edition. Im not an obsessive colector and only buy PJ vinyl but like everyone I'd prefer not to get ripped off!

    According to this chap it shoul dbe at least $100+ which is what I would have thought

    Yes it is a fake, the second link looks to be the real thing.
    The picture of the guys on the front is too dark and does not have clarity or the tonal value of the original.
    Also the fakes do not have the thumb cut out on the right hand of the sleeve as is shown on the real one on the second link.
    If you look closely at the second link you posted you can see how the vinyl has cut through, and slightly falling out of the clear sleeve. This is normal for these originals as over the years the weight of disc slices the PVC sleeve if stored upright.
    If you are considering what looks to be the real one ask the seller to send some pictures of the back sleeve.
    On this part at the top right corner is the catalogue number 468884 0 and the letters PX. These sit in a white box with the backround colour which is purple. The fakes of these parts look grey. Also the P and C text at the bottom of the sleeve with the Epic logo is in white but on the fakes this part is out of register and looks blurred.
    This is all because the originals were printed as a spot colours (pantone) and the fakes of course were printed cheaper using the four colour printing process so the printing has 'slipped' during printing becoming misaligned
    hence the blurred effect.

    Are you sure it's a real one? Did the seller confirm all the vinyl etchings and numbers? Good for you if it's real. It just seems like a really low price for an original.

    Oh, and the etching on the center of the vinyl should say Orlake on side A and B. I believe that was the pressing plant in the UK where these were made. The fakes don't have that marking.

    Picked one up myself for $80.00 on eBay. Delivered yesterday and its genuine. I've wanted one for a good while now so Im a happy camper :)
