    from what i've read in the past, that guy deliberately baits people because he likes the anger balls being hurled at him. he did it recently by bagging fat freddy's drop which upset a lot of people.

    the fact that he freely admits to liking pj's stuff, and then backtracks "uh, some of it" makes the piece weaker than his wrists.

    I was afraid someone on the board will find this.;) He is doing this all the time, as Doompony said - deliberatly baiting people. Just read how he insulted Metallica fans. When Mark Lanegan was in NZ, he praised him by insulting every grunge band, in a very hurtful way. The only not so insulting line was this: 'Eddie Vedder is growing old gracefully - but he's just not that good.' :lol::lol::lol:

    please ignore the rantings of a bored old man trying to be hip. as Ms Doompony has said, simon sweetman is always baiting baiting baiting, he loves to create a bit of controversy

    considering the popularity of pearl jam's last two concerts in NZ (30,000 each, don't know if that sounds small to rest of world but for here that's a decent number) I personally think simon sweetman should shut the fuck up. I don't give a rats arse if he likes Vs or not. why would anyone find what he has written interesting?? in my opinion, it is just his boring, ancient-man point of view

No doubt that Eddie took a beating in the press from the ultra-right for his open opposition to Dubya's stupid and pointless Iraqi vendetta, but he and the rest of the band LOVE this country and the ideals we like to believe it stands for and hate the way all of it was shit on by Dubya and his cronies. But burn the flag? No way!

    Maybe, but based on my understanding of what actually happened (and I grant that I was not there), it would be a gross misrepresentation to say anything even remotely akin to flag burning occurred. But I guess some people believe everything they hear on Fox News (the undisputed home of gross misrepresentations).
