Does anyone have or know how I can get a copy of these shows?

Just heard Rearviewmirror on PJ Radio and it blew my mind, just saw that it was Jones Beach but not sure which date - currently getting blown away with Porch from the '06 Honolulu show.

mervin50 that was indeed one of the greatest versions of RVM. It was the third night of the Jones Beach gig. I have an awful bootleg copy of one of those shows. Not sure which night it is.
veddergirl232 the Paramount show was my first PJ show. I stayed up all night to call in to a radio station to win the tickets, and finally got through about 8 am, and basically begged the DJ. I don't have a video, beside the one in my head, Ed's hair hanging over his face, in what I like to call his Gap look (he was wearing off white jeans and a light jean jacket), but I did take some pictures with my point and shoot. Pretty awful pics, but a great memory. Also got to see Jim Carroll there. RIP Jim. Couldn't help thinking of him at my last two shows, Newark and MSG2.
Good luck with your treasure hunt.
  • The last night of the Jones Beach was broadcast on the radio and there should be a wicked copy of that floating around. I have it on cassette somewhere in a crate with my dead tapes...

There are some decent videos floating around on youtube.

the second night was broadcast on the radio...8-24-00....it was broadcast on 92.3 FM, but Ed called it "92.7"....a few months later i got a job at 92.7, so that was kinda cool

I used to live 1 mile away from that station on Old Country Road. :D ...if I'm thinking of the right station.

Anyway, there's an OFFICIAL boot that was released, so you can find it without much problem.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

yeah, it's quite possible I'm an incredible moron - but how do you actually download shows from that site?

I can play songs on it, but damned if I can figure out how to download whole shows.

    even when I click "download"

(is it my browser? I use Chrome)

did you try downloading each song? I know sometimes the whole show download button (arrow next to show title ) doesn't work for me, but then I do each song (arrow next to each song title), and it works. go figure. it's sorta a pain in the ass, and I'm sure there's a better way, but for now..

It's funny that you ask about those shows. My first PJ show was 8/25/2000 at Jones Beach and that was when the theater was smaller than it is today. I took my wife and the show was awesome. Some time after, I bought the official bootleg CD's of my 8/25 show at Tower Records.

As did I. Oh, to be 20 and carefree again. The funny thing is how poor I probably was then but the tickets probably cost 1/3 as much as they do now. Anyway, I just listened to 8/25/00 again today which is why this thread caught my attention, and RVM is a stellar version (as is Better Man). Immortality...not so much!
A few months back I bought some boots from the 2000 tour off of ebay, all of which for less than or around $20. I know I could have downloaded it for free, but I kind of like having the discs as backup/keepsakes.

They just re-played a few tracks off this show again tonight. Still amazing to me.

I agree with you. I love having the actually cd in hand. For me it is more special and I look forward to the day when I have kids and I can show them my collection.
