The original Seth Lover-designed Wide Range pickups in the Deluxe Tele were dramatically different than the ones in the re-issues. Different magnet material entirely, way different tone. I'd take an original with original pups in a heartbeat...
My buddy wants to sell me back my old Fender Telesonic. Wish I had the cash.
My wishlist right now? A blackface Fender Princeton Reverb, an SG Classic (P-90's), and something with a set of P-Rails pickups. I'd also love a Taylor 314ce. But I think the next purchase is a Martin LX1E (when they're in-stock again)....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -
At this point, I've got so much stuff, it's gonna be house cleaning items...
New strings
New Picks
Wireless system (though I don't play many shows, anymore. I'd need two. One for the amp to the board. and another for the board to my guitar.)
On the guitar side (since you can never have enough guitars)
Jag-Stang (only for nostalgia)
Fender Toronado
Fender Jaguar
Fender 72 Tele
Flying V (simply because of the tones that Albert King can produce)
A FIXED wah pedal. (I've tried replacing the pot..nothing works!)
Martin of Taylor acoustic electric
Gibson SG3
Epiphone Black Beauty
12 string Bass (thank you, Jeff Ament)
I'd probably need cases and gig bags for all of those...and stands. Otherwise, I think that's it. Notice I didn't have any pedals? Now THAT is impressive!Grand Rapids '04, Detroit '06
JEFF HARDY AND JEFF AMENT USED TO LOOK THE SAME
"Pearl Jam always eases my mind and fires me up at the same time.”-Jeff Hardy0 -
Cherry Red ES-335
Gibson Les Paul Special (or maybe one of those 50's tribute studios they have out now, might do the trick!)
Nice Gibson Acoustic of some sort
Egnater Rebel 30 (I want something with around this kind of power, and the power scaling option seems nice)Post edited by keeponrockin onBelieve me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Yeah, I'd love a set. I'd been thinking about an SG with them (always wanted an SG with P-90's, why not go one step further?) or maybe something similar to a PRS (maybe a Cort, Schecter, or PRS SE) which would complement all of the pickups' tonal options. But lately, I've been jonesing for a Gibson ES-339 pretty bad... too many choices, not anywhere near enough cash....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -
If I had the money I'd try to get an old Fender Esquire, maybe a Gibson SG jr, a decent Fender J-Bass (with block inlays just because I love that), and maybe a Fender Princeton or Deluxe Reverb for the guitars and an Orange AD 200 for the bass. And tons of stompboxes, of course.0

I am looking for a nice circa 72 Les Paul Standard before they put in the speed holes.0
