Ichiro quotes

Someone on here mentioned Ichiro is currently their fav player right now, and then someone else mentioned him having great quotes, citing one of them as "I hope he arouses the fire that's dormant in the innermost recesses of my soul. I plan to face him with the zeal of a challenger."

Anyways I was looking for this quote to show my friend and I stumbled on this compilation of quotes
I'm a half japper so naturally Ichiro is a hero in the house (yes the living room went wild when he hit that double against Korea in the last world championship) ...some of these quotes pretty much made my day.

The guy is so weird, here's some of my favourites:

In response to what he listens for when he taps a new bat and puts it to his ear: "The sounds."

and i personally love his term of causing the other team's players some "major mental damage"

haha. I believe I was the one the brought up that first quote. Ichiro quotes are just outstanding. Looking at him, he does not really seem like the kind of guy that would come up with that shit but glad he does.
