I have been building my bootleg collection and have used many posts on this site to help decide which ones to try to get. You know, the "desert island three" post and so forth. I love how wide the variety is and would like a little more help in choosing. Tell me which ones are "must haves" and WHY? Personally, I love the sound and feel of of big crowd noise (that's just me). What bootlegs out there feature the loudest and most insane crowd participation? Thanks in advance!
How I choose to feel is how I am.

I run a blog where I've uploaded pretty much all of the pre-2000 soundboards/radio broadcasts. You'll find a lot of must-have shows there.

Here's the best of the blog sound quality-wise:

There you are! When I got my new laptop I lost your link and, for the life of me, couldn't remember the name of your blog. Funny, I liked it instantly because of the name. Good stuff.

These shows are professional soundboard recordings that are essential simply because of the quality:
    02-12-92 Amsterdam
    03-04-92 Utrecht
    06-06-92 London
    09-26-92 Honolulu
    11-30-93 Las Vegas
    04-03-94 Atlanta
    01-14-95 Washington DC
    03-17-95 Melbourne
    11-01-95 Salt Lake City
    11-03-96 Berlin
    05-03-98 Melbourne
    07-22-98 Seattle

There are also some fan-made soundboard & radio broadcast recordings that arent quite as good but they have crowd ambience added to improve them. 11-05-93 Indio, 07-11-95 Chicago and 10-02-96 Hartford are must-have examples.

The one show that comes to mind where the crowd was extraordinary amazing was Milan 2000. The Daughter where there's a back and forth between Ed and the crowd is really unbelievable! Even the encore break was amazing with the fans chanting while the band was off stage. There are others from the 2000 European shows where the fans were really into it as well. 2005 South America shows also come to mind where the fans were really insane when it comes to participation. Definitely start there. The Concert Chronology at twofeetthick.com can also help u with what shows were epic and what shows had amazing crowds. Each show has the setlist and a description of what happened at each show. It's a great website for looking back into the pj show history. Check it out! The years are located at the top. For crowd participation nothing compared to the South American run. Those fans are a show unto themselves.

buy the spectrum boxed set, well worth it in my opinion because i have them and listened to them all, even attended the last 2 shows. lots of audience participation and the building sounds great and there will never be another concert or any event held there ever again.
