i really enjoyed it. and that's coming from someone who hates tim burton's other films. but this one was nice and original.
Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
    Butthead: Huh huh.

I thought the CGI was great, but overall I thought the movie was weak. The dance at the end was terrible and the story seemed thrown together. It wasn't all bad, but I expected a lot more and was very disappointed.

The cartoon Disney one was so much more peppier and funny. I know this is like a sequel and all, and that it would be more morbid. !
yeah, I can definitely see how it would disappoint alot of people. kinda gloomy in comparison to the animated Disney cartoon we all came to know and love--with the quirky characters and catchy songs. :D but she is semi-grown up in this one, and so it does seem fitting that the atmosphere be more gloomy and uncertain.

Lewis Carroll's books Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass ARE 'atmospheric' (and trippy!). Burton didn't try to put the books on film, but rather took the 'spirit' of the books but focussed on the Jabberwocky poem.

Naturally, when you compare to Disney or other Hollywood productions of Alice, it is a lot gloomier. But then, Disney and Hollywood were making those films for kids and they like to make kiddy films happy and sweet!

    I loved this film.

Note: The caterpillar is voiced by Alan Rickman. Fantastic English actor.

I've never seen so many replies by one person to their own thread before.

I liked it and thought it was better than what general reviews were.
