I think I’ll pass.
When off this earth I do rise
I will ignite into all aflame
she will be there
in spark.
It has always been her
her hair
always her hair
but so was her neck
On down
I could not ever stop
my hands would go running wild across her in a motion
of slowness
to touching.
Within her
I would swear to god
as thighs crossed rivers bridging
for our lives.
Angels
as many as heaven could hold
would sing for her.
And I’m supposed to live?
I think I’ll pass.

My dear Mr. Chadwick...this is utterly beautiful...I was almost left speechless...the pictures painted by your words are whispers in the clouds that you brought to the page...I love your writing...it keeps me dreaming...0

skyeriverwinter,
thank you for your kind response.
i am pleased my writing grabs you, that is my job.
i love my job.
i want to share with you something i find funny about this piece.
i wrote this poem about 2-3 months ago in my car down at the beach, wrote it on an envelope, probably a bill or something. i finally brought the envelope/writing into the house yesterday. it had been under the sun visor collecting dust. so there you have it. a little editing, add or minus a few words and whamo. you have yourself a poem.for poetry through the ceiling. I agree, for me, the stories behind the writing is as interesting as the writings themselves and brings insight to the author. I like to know where the spark comes from and what to thank.
As always Chadwick, you express your thoughts beautifully.0 -
