    This is why I dont post. "lukin" was 'recorded' for the vitalogy record but that version didnt make it on and they re-recorded it later. This is how stuff works. From a technical standpoint alone, this song is newer. Songs were not recorded at this resolution prior to 2006 or so. Ed did not sing like this in 2002. The list goes on believe me. It's just Ed and it's new.

    This song was recorded during the riot act session, but was also re-recorded sometime in 2008, which might explain some sound discrepancies. I mean, you can't really argue against the fact that this was during the riot act sessions because it clearly was. End - O - Story.

    How can you tell how its recorded from an mp3???

    I'm just asking. It sounds newer to me too.

    That's what I posted in the other thread about this. This may have been a resurrected song from Riot Act, but the lyrics and singing style of it are definitely ITW/BS era. My theory is that it was recorded for ITW, but dropped. It just sounds like a solo song to me.

    There's uplifting and downer songs from every era. I don't think you can place a tune by mood.

    It definitely has a RA vibe, with some sparkly ITW overtones. Prolly unfinished so that makes it harder to be sure.

    I don't hear BS at all, b/c this song is actually interesting sounding. I don't really think Just Breathe and The End are overly ITW-ish as some people around here though either.

    it's newer than itw. no way this wouldnt have gone on itw unless they didnt want to give it to j records. but even still it sounds newer than that to me. i'm glad they merged my thread as you guys seem to know your stuff.

    I dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but in Deep Tom Tomorrow said that there was an unreleased track off backspacer that was on an early demo he had while making the album cover. I think this is the song that didnt make the album.

    Pretty good song too I might add :)

    I think this could be a demo recorded earlier this year. Via Jeff & Mike they recorded several demos in the Spring. This would also explain why the song was being passed around by people within the PJ camp right now. Why would they be passing around a song recorded 8 years ago to each other now??? Plus you can tell this song hasn't been touched by Brendan O' Brien. I think it's a demo!

    Yea, it does seem logical that they would be passing around a new mixed version or something.

    Everyone's going to have their opinion, but after half a dozen listens, all I can think is, meh.. Kind of a snoozer for me. I can see why it hasn't been released.
