07/14/03 – PNC Bank Arts Center: Holmdel, NJ-this one gets overlooked due to MSG and mansfield, but its great
I was there for this show. Ed is obsessed with how the Venue looks like a UFO and talks about it all night, also the main set is a chronological tour of their music! Plus Hunger Strike with Slater Kinney, an awesome show... The poster for this show is one of my favorites
ya know I had just seen a bunch of shows and punted on this one
this is the show I regret missing most0 -

Keepin it on the first page...It's funny when things change so much
It's all state of mind

I've got a question.
Does the fact that they are all sourced from FLAC into MP3 make them better sounding than if they are just MP3? Or does it reduce the quality to what I will already have as MP3?
The reason I ask is Soldier Field. The boot I have is the radio transmission that the band broadcast out of a van at the show. It's pretty good quality but I believe a straight MP3 recording. Will the version in this thread be better quality of sound?

I really LIKE this Version of 'EVEN FLOW'0 -
Thank you for this thread. I have a few of my favorite shows, but this certainly helped steer me in new directions.
Observation:
State College '03 Both improvs point to what could be considered a lyrical preview/ initial thoughts of two songs to come.
Improv 1 talks about leaving civilization behind and being free, reminded me of Gone
Improv 2 Repeats "nothing left" several times, obviously a big part of Unthought Known
I realize these are common themes, but knowing what we know now, I couldn't help but notice.0 -
This thread is the best thread.0

IMO what should be added to the list (or at least considered):
2008: Hartford
2009: CA 3, Philly 1+3+4 (sorry night 2)
2010: Boston, MSG 2
I realize I've been to a couple of these shows, but I don't think I'm being biased. But maybe I am.
