2010 Bootleg CDs: Track Names and Info?

I just got the CDs from the Bristow show. None of the songs have track names or info in itunes or windows media player. Is this normal?

    columbus and indy are the same. they have some kind of latin symbol or some shit.. backspacer showed up as the avacodo songs and cover for awhile when i ripped it with windows media player.

    For the buffalo show I ordered, the first disc had all the info when I put it on itunes, and the second disc had no info...strange.

    What this probably means is that when the program/app you are using to retrieve the info searches the CDDB (online database of metadata), it finds no information.

    Most programs/apps require online connectivity in order to auto populate the data fields because upon insertion of a cd, a command is executed where a request for information is sent to the CDDB. The information is returned to your computer and all of your cd's information is filled in.

    iTunes, for example (and I think Audacity) has a capability which allows you to submit cd track information to the database, but this process requires you to manually enter the info first.

    If I'm not mistaken, once the data is submitted to the CDDB it will then be available for others to download and will show up when they insert the same cd.

    This "error" is very evident if you listen to small bands or local music. Their information is rarely present in the CDDB and I usually wind up manually entering it.

    Duh on my part, that's why I never import an album unless I have an Internet connection. I guess I just forgot in the euphoria of popping this baby in!
