Many friends I've talked to want to take part in this but don't want to publish their personal photo's publicly online on Facebook, Photobucket or any online sites where everybody on the web can view & save personal images of them selves. With an open Photobucket account, mirror images are saved & searchable using google.com. Many tiny icon photos from Photobucket you see in google images search engine are saved for a long time. For Facebook, anybody who is everybody can view images & not sign up to the group. Plus, we already know that even if you delete images on Facebook, and even your account, they are all saved on Facebook's HD server. Personal info/images are not deleted at all.

Hey D, I understand the views being expressed! Trying to come up with a workable solution. The main issue is there will be numerous people needing to access/categorise/edit the submissions and we need a common area for everything to be organised/viewed easily/quickly rather than have to keep opening up various emails, the attachements and the accompanying info. Hopefully we'll get a lot of contributions so we need to try and come up with a way to do this without making it extremely time intensive.

We're thinking about it though!! If anyone has any suggestions please let us know! If we uploaded the photos and/or info to a private group whereby the only people who had access were the yearbook staff (i.e. no public access at all) would that maybe allay people's fears!?!?

A great way to keep things all organized is, imo, is by email. One email per member/user/fan sends along all their pics in a .zip or .rar file. First name & last name in the subject link then Pearl Jam Fan Yearbook by their name. Only once so when checking their emails you can create folders on the desktop (the one's receiving the emails) by their first & last name. And by doing this, one or 2+ photos from every folder get's put into the yearbook. Just a thought. That's one great way to get things organized then having websites, pages & pictures all posted around that you get doubles or triple plus shots in the year book.

Thanks for the suggestion D! Unfortunately multiple people will need access to the photos/details in order to put the sections together and select the shots needed. You're right in that the best way to do it would be to just have the photos stored via email with one or two people to sort it all out. Logistically though I don't think that's going to be an option.

I think the best way we can do it in order to make things as easy as possible for both contributors and the people working on the project is:

1.Get everyone to send their photos with the required info/disclaimers to an email address.
    2. Photo editors/staff log onto email address and approve/unapprove photos.
    3. Unapproved photos are either referred back to sender for further info or deleted from inbox with message sent back to sender.
    4. Approved photos are uploaded to a Flickr account and are marked as 'private', relevant info is added to photograph and original email is moved to an 'approved' folder within email account for any future reference/ legal requirements. Confirmation email sent back to sender.
    5. Photos uploaded to Flickr are then organised into various categories for use within yearbook by section staff.
    6. All staff who require use/access to the photos are approved and given the log on details of the account - there will be no public access to any of the uploaded photos as they will all be marked as 'private'.
    7. Final step - which I'll think about tonight (off out soon!) - procedure to ensure photos from as many different contributors as possible are used and no duplicates are used throughout the yearbook.

As I see it, the main benefit of doing it this way is that none of the information/images will be available to the general public/search engines etc. The main drawback would mean it'll be additional work for the photo staff to upload the photographs themselves - however I'm fine to put in the extra time to ensure that the contributors keep their personal details out of the realm of the general public.

I will definately lookfoward to buying one of these. I have only been to 2 shows and the last one was in 96, but I have become friends with alot people here wether it was through the wishlist secret santa/boards/forums here. It is really cool how not only Pearl Jam and their music has made such an impact on many peoples lives but how much the fans have become just as important to one another!

Sorry - I had the note as 'Friends Only' - I've opened it up now to everyone so you should be able to gain access. If not then let me know and I can paste it in here.
