Gorbechevs head + an eye - flies + pepper shaker???????

    it's posted above a book store in denver... it's been buggin the hell out of me, I need to figure it out!

    Perhaps it's not Gorbachev.

    Maybe it's a bullet hole, or blood, or some kind of wound?

    Can you ask the book store people if that's really Gorby up there? or even the answer to the puzzle.

    headshot? brain parasite? starfish attack?

    It's odd that it adds "eye" but then wants to subtract "flies", suggesting it only wants to remove the F from whatever the first piece is. Like is it "Face" + Eye - Flies = (ace) + pepper? Ace pepper? Ace Shaker?

    Maybe way off base and way overthought, but here it goes...

    Soviet Rifle Gunpowder

    Gorbachev = SOVIET
    iris - flies = RIFLE (removing similar letters - the first i and s in flies deletes the first i and s in iris)
    Pepper = GUNPOWDER (focus on the black powder versus the shaker)

    I think it's plausible...

    I think it's plausible...

    This is the 3rd puzzle, the other 2 are gone... long gone, as this one has been up for years now... I saw other art images of his at a bar, I could try to post pictures of those...
