More complaining about the set list, this time from a blog at the Broward New Times, an alternative weekly newspaper that I thought would have a better review.

Maybe because the band hadn't played Florida in five years, they all forgot what a Pearl Jam concert was like.

I thought for an openeing night, it was pretty good. And the southern shows will all probably get a heavier dose of the last albulm since they did not get the last tour. I have a feeling Tampa will see a very differnt set list than last night.

I never, ever email writers about shit, especially music reviewers. I figure their opinion is their opinion. But's taking all my strength not to email this guy.

I don't think he realizes what a PJ show is all about. I'd like to direct him to the setlist thread from last night, where most people were going apeshit over the setlist. And those who "grumbled" were grumbling because there were TOO MANY hits.

Honestly ... I don't know what this guy was thinking.

either the writer is completely clueless or completely sarcastic.....there is no middle ground.

I read that this morning...I have one word for this "writer". IDIOT.

I was at the show last night...not only did I not hear grumbling of any kind,
all around people were quite pumped. Before, during & after.

This guy should stick to writing fiction...his non -fiction work sucks.

    I thought this was funny:
Yellow Ledbetter followed, with guitarist Mike McCready nailing its signature Red Hot Chili Peppers-like guitar riff.

Hi hi I really like this, and Iwould love to get my hands on that chili peppers song he refers to - must be their best.

This is my email to the reviewer guy:

subject: Your lame ass Pearl Jam review

I'm going to assume you are not a pearl Jam fan. That's cool, but don't dis these guys because you don't know the songs. When a band wants to tap into their vast catalogue to give a crowd a unique experience and connect in a non-jukebox kinda way, that's a good thing. You can't knock them for not replaying the same shit over and over at every show. If you were truly a rock crtic you would have appreciated the fact that they dug out "Who you Are", a song not played in 10 years. This is not a Pearl Jam cover band, this is the real thing. They have rock and roll morals you'll never understand, but be cool, I'm sure the All American Retards or some other "real" rock band will be around soon to wet your appetite for the hits. Maybe you should petition Radiohead to play Creep again when they come around. I mean it is what the fans want, right?
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!

Maybe they should have played their hit "daughter" which has a oingo boingo type bass line. Or perhaps "Release" which has a rather Jon Secada feel to it.

    What an tool, this guy.

Hahaha......great stuff, laughed out loud at my desk.

I wish they would have opened with Release, which sounds like Primus and Garth Brooks had a baby.
