My wife is a teacher and these days she has no support from the administration when it comes to dealing with problematic children, or even worse, their asshole fucking parents. I pity and admire teachers these days. I would last about 1 hour before I had picked up two kids by their ears and smashed their skulls together. And then, I would find their addresses and make sure their parents suffered an ever more horrible fate.

Eyed---My husband teaches high school and he feels the exact same way. He has not hit any kids yet though!! ;) The admin has NO CLUE what it is like to teach now. They have no support for teachers when it comes to kids always on their cell phones/i-pods. Kids back talk telling my husb to shut up!! Asking why HE gets to talk and they can't!!!! Constantly late. They don't WANT to be there and act like it. Ahhhhhh!!!! It is a reflection on society pure and simple---NOT A LIBERAL THINKING THING!!

Honestly, I think the parents are way to Liberal with the kids. They don't worry about consequences. They are not taught that their are rules in life and bad behavior will not be tolerated. Bottom line is that it starts from home. Sure sometimes you get a bad seed and nothing will change him or her, but for the most part....most part....parents who run a tight ship and are involved with their kids lives raise better children. Kids are so spoiled today. That's one of the reasons I believe in conservative values. I just dont agree with raising a child in a liberal environment. That said...I love my children with all my heart and spoil them rotten! Hahaha but I do it in a way where they don't know it really. (Does that make sense?) They know they cant get over on me, but they also know listening to me and behaving gets them rewards.

Why cant he just throw the bad kids out of class? Every time they are bad throw them out. Keep doing it till the parents call then document everything, review it with them..?
I'm asking cause I think about this often actually. Teach like the guy in Lean on me! Seriously?

There's something wrong with the entire school system...It makes no sense really. We send our kids off to school for 7 hours a day from the age of 5. Who's really raising our kids? It baffles me.

I saw an interview with this teacher. She admits that she "snapped", was completely in the wrong for her actions, but had enough with this problematic kid who, that day, was picking on a new student who had special needs. In the interview she went on to say that schools need to set guidelines for disciplining students, because there currently is none.

Like others have said, this kid probably deserved it, and there's a serious lack of consequences in schools with bullies and other problematic students.

As far as school administrations having no support for dealing with kids, really, do they even have any real options? Remember being a kid when you got in trouble and the worst thing you could think of is your parents finding out?

Forget detention or paddling, those punishments didn't really deter anyone, but the threat of having the school call your parents did. And it wasn't even a fear of getting beat... my parents spanked us once in a great while, but getting in trouble with them wasn't fun (loss of privileges, disappointing them, etc.).

Honestly, I think the parents are way to Liberal with the kids. They don't worry about consequences. They are not taught that their are rules in life and bad behavior will not be tolerated. How exactly is teaching kids respect and to behave a liberal or conservative ideal? You bringing up "conservative values" and "a liberal environment" makes no sense to me.
