Most everyone I ran into in Cleveland, was from the Burgh...
All I am seeing on the Cleveland forum is, "come to Pittsburgh". " we don't sit down in Pittsburgh!"
Damn right. Why we were skipped on this leg, not sure.
I heard they skipped us due to the hockey playoffs? Not sure. So lets get this started....

Wih that;
What's you favorite PJ/Pitt memory?

Here's a classic for me; 4/26/03 Mellon
Ed says, "Normally that song is at the end of a set because it is pretty hard to sing anything after that ..." (pointing at his throat) and he acts like that is the end of the show. "I'm just kidding; this throat's made of steel. It came from Pittsburgh ... We've got steel vocal chords and iron tempo. You can't beat that! And then Mike and Stone listen to a lot of metal so we're pretty galvanized here.

GO PENS~

    Funny we came from Buffalo for the show. Everyone we partied with was from either Pitt or Buffalo.

    Do you guys think they are going to add some fall dates....After last night's show I need another fix and can't make any of the remaining dates in the US on the east coast

    Pittsburgh loves PJ, I wish they'd see that and stop skipping over us...

    A majority of the people I saw in Cleveland had Pens gear on...COME BACK TO THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS PJ!

    I was there from Chicago, and met people from all over. Columbus, and Ontario to name a couple. Well I don't agree that the majority of people were from Pittsburgh, I do think the majority of people were not from the Cleveland area. By the way, Cleveland is a shithole town. Bars and restraunts all closed after the show? What bars and restraunts there were at least.

    I'm not from Cleveland but in all fairness it was a Sunday, and mother's day at that...Kind of hard to judge the city based on those things

    Saturday night sucked too, as far as nightlife goes.

    Got ya, thought you were just talking Sund....Was up there twice, once for a Bills Browns game in an absolute snowstorm. and the other visiting a buddy at Case Western, the bars were fun, but it was a college district by the school like 10 min from the city
  • As I said in the mistake by the lake thread, COME TO DA BURG!!! Open our new arena:) .

    Why do you poke fun at Cleveland? I have been to Chicago and it's a lot like Cleveland just bigger and more expensive and harder to get around. Sure Cleveland has its faults Pittsburgh has those great chocolate colored rivers (3 rivers) people try to go waterskiing on and instead get tuberculosis. Sure Lake Erie may be considered the lake on the mistake but at the same time this lake makes this city very enjoyable. I will agree that in general our music scene as well as taste in music in Cleveland is sub par. Cleveland on both the west side and east side suburbs is where there is plenty to do and people spend most their time.

    So lets not ridicule each others cities Pittsburgh and Chicago we should all hope we get Pearl Jam to come and play in our cities so we can see them more than once when they are on tour. We are all fans but don't make fun of someones city when you visit it on one of the worst weather weekends all year and don't have someone with you that is from here showing you what to you can do. I have been to Pittsburgh plenty of times and would have felt the same way if I wasn't with someone from there who new where to go and have fun.

    Lets keep this a Pearl Jam forum. You can rip on our sports though Pittsburgh with your Steelers who crush our Browns year in and year out and Chicago with your infamous Michael Jordan shot over Ehlo's head to lead the Bulls over the Cavs in the 1988 Eastern Conference playoffs.
  • Just a friendly jab, didn't mean anything by it bud, I actually was pleasantly surprised by the layout of the sports arenas in comparison to the parking. And the police force seemed to keep things flowing nicely after the show. I certainly am not saying skip Cleveland, but I am just being greedy wanting the guys to swing by da burg in the fall.

    Not trying to knock Cleveland by any means... (browns suck).. I actually like the town alot.
    Not to mention I won the lottery Sunday and was front row center with EV... Unreal!
    With that, I NEED a poster from this show.. Can anyone refer me to a link to buy?

    Just amazed & bumed that Pittsburgh got the skip on this leg.

    So, PITTSBURGH CREW;
    We need to keep this going and create a buzz to get the boys to the burgh!!!

    GO PENS!

    Hey, If anyone in Pittsburgh happens to know an alternative way for my ex to get home tonight to NYC- after his flight just got canceled, PLEASE let me know....... His dog is driving me insane and needs to leave ASAP. Amtrak was 9.5 hours, but not even until the morning - Hoping someone took like a train / shuttle combo to a show once, I am hitting that level of desperation! Is it really even that bad over there? I'm confused, is it raining really that hard? Or what's going on that is so bad like this in the summer? I have work to do :-x
