So WMMR (philly rock station) today did a play list of the top songs covered by Pearl Jam. Here was their list
12.) Audioslave - Like a Stone
11.) Neil Young - Rockin' in the Free World
10.) Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
9.) Doors - Break on Through
8.) Van Halen - Ain't Talkin Bout Love
7.) Police - Driven to Tears
6.) Soundgarden - Outshined
5.) Who - Love Reign O'er Me
4.) Rancid - Time Bomb
3.) Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall
2.) Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike
1.) Led Zeppelin - Going to California
I didn't even knew they covered Smells Like Teen Spirit (but did find it on youtube). I was shocked that they covered Rancid's Time Bomb (couldn't find that anywhere online). Didn't know about The Police , Van Halen, and The Doors.

How many of these songs were covered in its ENTIREITY? I've heard some of these songs, where Eddie, or the band, would sing/play a line or so. Song would last about 20 secs to a little more then a minute.Outshined and Smells Like Teen Spirit were played like this(on boots i've heard). Has ABITW been played, besides as a tag? Where is Crazy Mary?0 -

Chicago HOB, I think...0 -
it was with robert plant at the house of blues katrina benefit0
-
pretty sure like a stone was when only cornell came out and did it solo at an encore in santa barbara 2003. its probably listed on the setlist and they just assumed it was a cover. also, going to california was definitely at the hob in chicago, but pretty sure it was just robert plant and his band at the time performing it (right after pj did given to fly they came out and it transitioned right into it-there was minor "controversy" when gtf came out that it was a ripoff of going to california)0
-
i think they played it together...plant did a set, then PJ played, then they did a set together of mostly led zeppelin songs0
-
I heard this on the radio as well, WMMR does this everyday. They play 12 songs and you have to guess the common theme. It was just songs that Pearl Jam covered it wasn't a list of their top covers.0
-
this is definately a better listCavstarr313 wrote:Alright, I will give you my 12(weird amount by the way)
