    Ludicrous and ignorant? No, you making a huge deal out of a joke is ludicrous and ignorant. Nonetheless, you opened up the argument. It doesn't matter when Core was written. What matters is that it was released a full year after TEN. It's been pretty much a common joke since the release of Core that STP were "ripping off" Pearl Jam. I'm not even really suggesting that Scott Weiland was trying to sound like Ed, BUT it doesn't change the fact that having similar singing style as Ed probably didn't hurt record sales. Anyway, how do you explain the total change in style AFTER Core and all the Pearl Jam comparisons (and in my opinion when STP actually started to be good)? More likely than not, Weiland got sick of the comparisons and (wisely) chose to distance himself from all that. Again, I never said that he intentionally copied Ed`s style but that the similarities probably helped the band break.

    certainly, i think stp are a great band whereas creed and nickelback are nonsense.

    answering my own question: EDDIE VEDDER IS A POET AMONGST MUSICIANS AND NO MATTER if HE COLLABERATED WITH STONE AND JEFF HE WOULD HAVE FOUND SUCCESS THROUGH HIS OWN WORDS

    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
