    Oil Prices Tumble

    NEW YORK - Oil prices fell Tuesday to settle under $58 a barrel, as a decline in the stock market stirred worries about the economy and demand for energy.

    The selloff on Wall Street trumped what had earlier been a bullish oil market that saw crude prices climb just shy of $60 a barrel. A forecast for a substantial decline in world oil supplies supported the day's early rally.

    "Oil traders are seeing demand at record highs right now, but if the economy ends up taking a turn for the worse, their demand expectations would fall," said Phil Flynn, analyst at Alaron Trading Corp. in Chicago.

    Light, sweet crude for April delivery shed 98 cents to settle at $57.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, extending its losses for a third straight session.

    The Dow Jones industrials plunged more than 240 points Tuesday due to mounting problems among subprime lenders who provide mortgages to borrowers with poor credit histories. A Mortgage Bankers Association report showed foreclosures surged to an all-time high in the fourth quarter last year.

    Flynn said a steep drop in the Dow can kindle broader economic fears, causing people to take profits.

    Actually I would love to see a Carolina vs Florida final. I think they are the best 2 teams in the country with Ohio State right there.

    SO why are gas prices going up????

    this angers me more than anything. Gas prices won't go down any when the price of oil falls and if it does go down it goes down a few cents over a couple of weeks. But if it goes up a dollar the price of gas raises 20 cents the next morning. It makes no sense.

    This is funny you should bring this up. PJ has leased a plane from this company (based here in Wisconsin) for the last 3 N. America tours. Each time they had the same flight attendant and I happen to know her. During the Canada tour she got me one of Ed's wine bottles. Last year she got me a signed Avocado cd by the whole band.

    That's the one Primussucks. Select Leasing bases the planes in Waukesha County Airport in Wisconsin. They have two and are trying to sell the pair for $2,250,000. No offers yet. They are BIG GASHOGS, but the British Aerospace Corporation makes less weaponry aircraft than most others and so I think that's why they were chosen.
