its funny to look at, but you can't expect everyone in their crew to be a treehugging hippie.i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status0 -
yeah but chinese food and wings might as well have said KFC double downsYieldToNothing wrote:Get_Right wrote:i like how its all about organic, spring water, tea, fruits

Why does it read in all caps "AT NO TIME SHOULD ALCOHOL BE PUT IN THE ARTIST DRESSING ROOMS"
Is that so nobody bother's the artists in their dressing rooms looking for a beer?0 -

Cause it's not a good idea to leave alcohol in a room with an alcoholic.0 -

Plus Pearl Jam doesn't drink before they go on. Does this look like Creed to you?0 -
yeah Ed waits for the show to get completely hammered. he doesnt start forgetting lyrics until 5 or 6 songs in.TheVan218 wrote:MisterEtake2 wrote:ledbetterman4pearljam wrote:Why does it read in all caps "AT NO TIME SHOULD ALCOHOL BE PUT IN THE ARTIST DRESSING ROOMS"

i love tour riders
i worked for the uvm concert board in college and as "roadie" in diego for rhino event staging and productions
ive had to do some running for some bands in college and like on the warped tour and stuff around diego
primus was the best back in college, i got just what you'd expect for them. marshamllows, peanut butter and un-dyed long thermal underwear
meeting les (and trey!! and stu copeland!! as this was the first time oysterhead took the stage together for a couple songs mid-primus set) was def a college highlight for meand fuck me if I say somethin you dont wanna hear, fuck me!
and fuck me if you only hear what you wanna hear
fuck me...if I care...but im not leavin here0 -
My friend works for KLRU (Austin's PBS station), specifically she works the Austin City Limits TV productions. The day of the taping she showed me PJ's rider... the thing I remember sticking out was the BBQ grill. I guess they really wanted to BBQ.
They REALLY wanted to BBQ, 'cause they decided to BBQ on the 4th floor of the building (where the taping happened), so the taping ended up having a BBQ smell. Ah, the memories.0 -
I love the demand for clean and decorative furniture. Would Ed have a shitfit if it was just a white sofa?

Could you imagine having a job where you are making millions of dollars a week and you get to demand all of this shit on top of that? Instead we are all stuck checking this message board once and awhile at our middle class jobs or even worse, unemployed while ticket prices go up.0 -
These are classic! It even has the infamous Van Halen - NO BROWN M&M's
Check out Foo Fighters 08, this is the best one, some really funny stuff in there including:
PLEASE HAVE SIGNS VISIBLY POSTED FROM CREW ENTRANCE TO CATERING PRIOR TO OUR ARRIVAL. FAT ROADIES HAVE TO EAT IMMEDIATELY SO THEY CAN BEGIN THEIR ARDUOUS 70 TO 90 MINUTE WORKDAY!!!!!

Yeah, i'm sure a lot of it is for the roadies, techs, etc.
And...the crazy thing? The bands usually do these things as tests. If these "demands" are right, then the bands know that everything else is gonna be right, such as sound levels and effects, lights, etc.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -

Sound levels, effects, lights, etc are brought by their own personnel.... however it would give them an indication of how that day's catering and promoter rep handles things.

I think it was Barbara Streisand or someone who wanted rose petals in the toilet.
...and someone who used to be a runner for me, and also handled catering the other times was asked to supply "h" for Jerry Garcia. That was of course not on the rider.
Elton John enjoys having buff, naked (except for shorts) "servers" bringing in his beverages. That one was quite interesting, and unexpected.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

I used to cater shows and it really pissed me off how many times the artist never
touched "special" items that I had to run around and shop for.
I think they were just fucking with me.
BTW,
Nicest guy I ever fed - Jimmy Buffett

The best is when Rap "artists" leave unopened bottles of Crystal.

Paul McCartney prefers that you use a reputable florist when getting flowers because Paul is very fond of flowers and floral gifts are welcome...so long as they're delivered in vases by 11:00am the day of the show.
