zombieland. it looks awesome. even when i agree with moore (and i agree there is plenty to criticize with our current capitalist system), his movies kinda suck.0 -

The alternative to the "what can you do" approach, is to ensure either that 1) Noone can take anything without anyone noticing or 2) You build a norm structure and establish morals in the group that prevents them from exploiting such loopholes. Historically, we have used both, most often simultaneously.
There is a lot to be said for "community spirit" which is often overlooked in an overly individualistic perspective.

what the heck happened to my post!?
anyhoo - basically, the system is genius for the people exploiting it ... you have the less gov't group pitted against the more gov't ... and they both point to the same entity as the crux of the problem (gov't) just for different reasons ...
they've manipulated the system so that although outwardly it would appear no one can do the things you mentioned - the reality is they can ...Post edited by polaris_x on0 -

You should save it somehow. Either with a screen shot, which you can then print and enlarge, or maybe just copy the url and e-mail it to yourself for posterity.0 -

I like Moore's documentaries. they are always entertaining. I particularly like Roger and Me. I think he would gain much more credibility if he would stop with the ambushing though.that’s right! Can’t we all just get together and focus on our real enemies: monogamous gays and stem cells… - Ned Flanders
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb

just watched this last night, pretty good flick. i can't believe companies take life insurance policies on employees, like that one guy that died and his company made over $5 million off his death!
lots of good info on wall street and goldman sachs and the banks.don't compete; coexist
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'0 -
oh, and the part about the privately owned, for profit juvenile hall that was bribing a judge to send kids there and then without consulting a lawyer or the judge would often times keep them for months longer than sentenced because they decided they weren't ready to be released yet...!!!
and the merryil lunch exec telling reagan he had to hurry up with his speech would be funny if his reign wasn't one of the worst in history of mankinddon't compete; coexist

Why don't you ask the same of anybody else? Do you ask Pearl Jam to perform for you for free and just give you their albums and t-shirts?
And besides, since when does criticizing the system of Capitalism constitute wanting everything to be free?I knew all the rules, but the rules did not know me...GUARANTEED!
