Road rage, accident centers on Obama bumper sticker
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Nashville man says he and his 10-year-old daughter were victims of road rage Thursday afternoon, all because of a political bumper sticker on his car.
Mark Duren told News 2 the incident happened around 4:30p.m., while he was driving on Blair Boulevard, not far from Belmont University.
He said Harry Weisiger gave him the bird and rammed into his vehicle, after noticing an Obama-Biden sticker on his car bumper.
Duren had just picked up his 10-year-old daughter from school and had her in the car with him.
"He pointed at the back of my car," Duren said, "the bumper, flipped me off, one finger salute."
But it didn't end there.
Duren told News 2 that Weisiger honked his horn at him for awhile, as Duren stopped at a stop sign.
Once he started driving again, down Blair Boulevard, towards his home, he said, "I looked in the rear view mirror again, and this same SUV was speeding, flying up behind me, bumped me."
Duren said he applied his brake and the SUV smashed into the back of his car.
He then put his car in park to take care of the accident, but Weisiger started pushing the car using his SUV.
Duren said, "He pushed my car up towards the sidewalk, almost onto the sidewalk."
Police say Harry Weisiger is charged with felony reckless endangerment in the incident.

Correct, however if the bumper sticker wasn't there would he have been charged with felony reckless endangerment in this incident of unabated anger? To me that is signs of hate, indicatiion of hate towards people who may like this President and may want to put a sticker on the back of a car.

Was in Seattle for the PJ shows and a few of us decided to go the the Washington/Puyallup state fair. Friend had the Obama sticker on his car. We came back to find the Obama all Hitler'd out with 666 on his forehead, plus they keyed the car around the sticker.
This is Republican party falling apart right in front of our eyes IMO.NERDS!0 -
its getting to be a little ridiculous that a bumper sticker can stir so much anger. it says a lot about the maturity level of this guy who rammed the guy with the obama sticker. i know there are deep divisions out there, but people have to be able to let things go and not take their anger at the president out on those that supported him....i had my john kerry signs ripped down in 2004, so i know what it is like... and because of that i remember seeing people with those "w" stickers and all i did was think they were douchebags, i never wanted to ram their car or do any property destruction...g under p wrote:aerial wrote:Harry Weisiger is charged with felony reckless endangerment in the incident.....and he deserves the charges

In my lowest moments of despair in 2003-04 of protest/anger of the newly created wars I never had the thoughts of causing harm or destruction to those who supported George W Bush. At one protest march in DC I was offered *I Hate Bush* sticker and button and refused both. Mainly because as much as I despised the man i couldn't come to hating him, I found my time to be better spent on understanding what he and his administration was trying to do to this country by stirring up fear and intimidation of this country's citizens.
It kind of reminds of the time back then when everyone had or was supposed to have a US flag on your car and if you didn't you were somehow anti-American or it was considered un-America. One woman got pissed with me cause I had another country's flag in my truck, I refused to follow the crowd. i didn't like what our country was doing to itself at the time however today I have a flag in my truck because more than ever this country needs to pull together for the betterman of it's citizens.

I was talking to a friend at work and he told me of a company that was forced to lay off several worker's
so the owner of the company went into the parking lot and looked at employee car's that had obama bumper sticker's on them and gave lay off paper's to those who had the obama bumper sticker's on their car's,
and said you want change you got it.
I don't know how true that is,it sounds like a story to me but it is a sign of obamas declining popularity,
I talk to guy's at work (union members) that voted for obama and say that they now wish they hadn't
and will not vote for him for the 2nd term, guess it's like any other president nobody will be a 100% happy one
way or the other.

I don't understand why this guy was blaming the President for layoffs that would NEVER had happened had we not had 30 years of conservative, right wing economics and politics jammed down our throat. Stuff like "free trade" and deregulation and "government is bad" led to the layoffs, not a President who's not even half way through his term."It's not hard to own something. Or everything. You just have to know that it's yours, and then be willing to let it go." - Neil Gaiman, "Stardust"0

like I said earlyer..everybody needs someone to point a finger at even if they're wrong.
during these hard times the country needs a scape goat and when a politician make a
public promise to make change for the better people expect it right away, people get unemployed
and panic (understandably) and want to know their president will fix the problem even if
it is out of his hands but thats part of the job as president...being a scape goat.
thats what stinks, while a candidate is running for office they make promises then they find out
they can't keep them...remember this one "no new tax's,read my lip's"

Did any vandalism or violence occur with vehicles with Bush stickers on them??
That's what I want to know. It appears that Obama haters clearly have anger management issues...0 -

I seem to remeber a time when Clinton was president and there was a Democratic majority. I guess 30 years might be a bit off.96 Randall's Island II

And no one in his or her right mind is going to compare Bill Clinton to FDR.
30 years refers to Ronald Reagan... which is actually quite on the mark."It's not hard to own something. Or everything. You just have to know that it's yours, and then be willing to let it go." - Neil Gaiman, "Stardust"0 -

Could be true. I worked for a cookie cutter homebuilder during the '04 election. The big boss told the entire staff to vote for Bush if we wanted to keep our jobs.I carried a watermelon0 -

Now how in the world was that homebuilder going to police who his staff is going to vote for? He can't go into the booth with each staffer.

In the interest of truth... I think it was a Republican lead Congress from 1995-2000. I recall Newt Gingrich being the Speaker of the House... a majority position and Strom Thurmond as the Senate Pro Tempore.
I just can't believe that a Democratic Congress would impeach a Democratic President... but, i could be wrong... except in this case, I know I'm correct.Post edited by Cosmo onAllen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
