Mary

It's hot in the dry August dessert and no water in sight
I can feel the pouding of my heart and I can no longer sweat
every thought is vivid nightmare and the vultures are circling above me.

if I walk just another mile or so I'll find water I know
God I can taste it it's flooding my soul,
Mary owns the cantina and she's waiting there for me
I can see the horse's watering outside

Mary's holding me while we dance alone on the cantina floor
I can smell the lilac in her hair,the piano plays so slow
her eyes are ocean's of time I can feel the cool breeze of her breath on my neck
who is that at the cantina door.

He's telling me we have to go
